Honestly that was just a thought, the reason I ended up with the wheels I just got, was because, I can never decide on a suspension or wheel & tire setup, I change my mind everyday, so my wife made me buy these, to shut me up lol.

I had an idea of how it would go, but have never done it. Conveniently I am going to need shocks sometime soon also, so I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Also if the rear ended up being a hair too low, I would probably just drop the front an inch. That was my thought process anyway, may even get the mcgaughys front shocks, and then I could do 1/2” in the front, to try to get level.

I think I may get the Belltech 990sp, basically shock replacement, with shackles, but a little adjustable, probably do like 1” in the front and 3” in the rear, or something like that, if its level, if it has too much rake, I may just do the 3” in the rear.

Tires were delivered today, Im very happy with them, they still have the dots and stickers.

Mine is getting ready to turn 140k, I have only had it 2 years, I am the 2nd owner, I have probably only put about 7-8k miles on it, the previous owner, was a lumber salesman, I bought it from a small rural chevy dealership, everyone knew the guy who had owned it, he has been a regular customer of the dealership for many years, in fact one of the other salesmen said “Hey, I see you’re buying my neighbors truck.” lol. They had performed all the service and had all the service records. Records state it has had a new throttle body at some point, probably from oil build up, but other than that, nothing but regular maintenance, thing runs like a top.

I love my 14 RCSB 2wd 4.3. I don’t tow, but do haul pretty regularly for work, and for around the house stuff. I live and work in the city, so the RCSB helps with small areas to maneuver. I don’t really “off-road” or drive it much in the winter, so no need for 4 wheel drive. Best of all I get 20mpgs around town all day. It fits my needs to a tee. I have an awd crossover for the wife, kids, travel, and snow. And to add, Im not a small person, so a Colorado was not and option.

What makes its a base engine? I agree its a base engine, but not because its underpowered, because its cheaper. You seem to think because its a base engine, that, that means it is underpowered, thats false.

Yes in fact it does mean something. MONEY. If you NEED and/or “THINK YOU NEED”, a V8, you will pay more for it.

“Fact is the 4.3 is a base engine.” What does that mean? That literally means nothing, yes it comes in trucks that do not have power windows. You are using that like it is a statement that proves your opinion about the 4.3, which is that it is underpowered.

I love how you used the word FACT, then proceeded with many opinions. LOL....... I own both a 4.3 & a crossover, shocking I know... I never said any of the things you are insinuating people who own either, say. Your situation may not require a V6 truck or 4cyl crossover, and it may be hard for you to understand, but others situations do, and not only that, they enjoy having what they need, and having anything else would be excessive. Would you prefer everyone to buy V8s and not use them for what they are made for, instead of just not buying them?
