  1. cam thanks for the reply. At this point anybody's guess is good since the techs at Chevy could not diagnosis the problem.
  2. First I have owned GMC/Chevy trucks all my life and have never needed to replace back brake pads before 100k miles. I now own a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd. At about 19k miles both back brake pads wore out and damaged rotors. Chevy replaced pads and rotors at no charge. Truck now has 39k miles and back pads have worn out again. I replaced pads and talk to GMC/Chevy and they gave me a case number to have the problem diagnosed. Took to dealership and they found no problem. Dealership maintenance record state: "fully inspected brakes, calipers, caliper slide pins, ebcm for possible codes for pressure issues in pressure module valve, inspected old pads. Appears to be even wear. Brake system operating as designed. Inspect only no issues found. Brakes operating as designed."ppr This is not a problem with the way I drive as only the back pads are wearing out. Has anybody else encountered this problem or any suggestion as to what my be causing this?
  3. was hoping someone would have had a good suggestion to why you are going though pads. I have a 2017 silverado 4wd. It has about 39k miles and I've had just the back pads wear out at about 19k miles. Just replaced the pads for a second time. I too have never had bake problem of this type. Never had to replace pads or shoes on gm trucks I've owned over the pass 50 years before 80k miles. My problem is its only the back pads wearing out on this truck. Will start a new post for this problem.
