Yea. I just noticed there was a design change and it seems to be better built. -

Also, the design of the pedal has changed to make it stiffer if anyone is interested in "upgrading." Old: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=7985184&cc=3307664&jsn=426 New: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8931240&cc=3307664&jsn=427 -
Shake or Vibration Issues

I'd recommend KYB MonoMax shocks for the rear. Bilsteins for the front. Especially if you're not planning to haul anything. IMO the KYBs are better engineered for the rear of a pick up. Loaded or unloaded. -

It's pretty common to see that in a tire. IMO -

No. I plan to get copies of everything though when I pick up my truck. -

I'll keep updating as I find out info. I know there are service bulletins for exhaust dampeners, leaf spring bushings, transmission programming, and just re-torquing everything from the transmission mount on back. They ordered a bunch of parts for my truck so I assume they're at least trying to get it fixed. They're making changes and then driving the truck around to see if they can isolate the problem. I've also let them know of issues I've read of on here. Specifically the shocks, axles, and ring gears being out of spec. -

I'm in a brand new 2017 Silverado Double Cab 2WD 5.3L Texas Edition for a loaner since Friday. It also vibrates at highway speeds. Not as bad as my single cab, but still enough to be noticeable. The crew cab I had as a loaner twice before had no vibrations at all. Was also a 2WD. Friend of mine has a 4x4 double cab. No vibz either. Just wanted to share that info. -

Service guy told me that some of the fixes were found by people working on their own trucks and telling GM about it. Guess they're just giving out engineering degrees to anyone these days. Haha. -

Went to a different dealer than I had before. Found out a lot of good info on my truck that the other dealer never told me. They're keeping my truck and performing all maintenance suggested in service bulletins by GM. There's a lot of them. Service Manager told me not to expect the vibrations to go away 100% in the single cab. They have 3 on the lot they can't sale for the same reason. They assured me that after going through the truck there should be a significant difference in how bad the vibration is. It's definitely a combination of multiple issues dealing with the transmission, exhaust, and suspension. The dealer I bought the truck from never recorded in the system that I had complained of vibration and shifting issues. Luckily the paperwork they gave me has it listed. In case I have to file a claim against GM at some point. What's the point of a dealership lying about an issue? Will GM scold them for correctly reporting an issue? Or maybe it's just an incompetent service center? -

Had a 2002 Tahoe. Always having electrical problems and AC issues. Worst part was being stranded in Mississippi because the harness going to the fuel pump burned up. Had to wire it myself. And that incident also messed up my gauge cluster......and more. 2005 Avalanche. Electrical and AC problems. Replaced all electrical components to the AC system. Would not work. Guessing it's a harness issue. Mirrors stopped working. Radio stopped working. Taillight fell out... 2006 Colorado. Great truck until the valve seats came apart. NOW. 2015 Sierra. Vibration/ resonance that I can't resolve. Radio stopped working.( Going to the dealer for that today) Motor was burning oil so I bought a tuner to turn off the AFM. Turning off the AFM fixed most of the shifting issues I had with the truck, but it's still clunky. Many of the suspension components were not torqued to spec. Shocks were bad at 23k miles...... I could be forgetting something. I've always gone back to GM because I felt they had the best looking vehicles and usually the best price. But they burnt me 4 times in a row. I'm done. Seeing fan boys on this forum is hilarious, but mostly just annoying for those of us that regret the poor investment we made. -

And the direct injection keeps fuel from cleaning the tops of the valves -

Not really sure why it helps, but I know it works. I'm sure there's a thread on here about it. Fixed my oil burning issues. Maybe it has something to do with a lack of pressure in the cylinders that are disabled allowing oil to pass through the piston rings? Read some horror stories of excessive carbon build up in the combustion chamber caused by the AFM. -

The oil consumption is caused by the AFM. Disabling it should stop oil consumption. If not, then there is a bigger problem. -

I'm using a DiabloSport tuner to disable mine. Fixed my shudder. Still down shifts a little hard though from 4-3 and 3-2. -

If its an 8 speed it could be the torque converter. If its the 6 speed probably the AFM. Could be the case with the 8 speed as well. -

What gear set do you have? I have the 3.23 gears and I have the "vibration" over 60MPH. -

Thanks for the info. I found a GM service center that knows about the problem, but they have to go through GMs procedural crap. The shudder between 30-55mph is the torque converter. GM tech told me that himself. I'll keep this updated in case it helps anyone out. They'll start working on my truck next Tuesday. -

Wish I had seen this thread while researching my recent purchase. Bought a 2015 GMC Sierra single cab 2WD 6.5' bed with the 4.3L and 3.23 rear end. Didn't notice the vibration driving around at 45 - 50 MPH test driving. After getting on the highway I noticed the vibration in the rear of the truck. At first I thought maybe it was just the short wheelbase being rough on rough roads. Tried different roads with the same results. It's at it's worst around 75-80 MPH. I did notice that the vibration improves when turning even just slightly. The truck is still under warranty with 23,000 miles and I'm in a loaner with the dealer promising to fix the vehicle. After skimming through this post I did not see that GM ever had a fix or did I miss something?
