  1. I was getting approx 25 mpg stock. 20mpg leveled and now approx 17-19 with lift and tires. Woohoo, still better than my stock 14 5.3 which lucky if it gave me 15-16 lol
  2. Pretty truck, don’t recommend doing anything being your first truck, just enjoy driving it, get used to its functions and abilities then it’ll just hit you.
  3. 2” block replacing the rear stock and an add a leaf
  4. That’s a great deal with UCA’s! Don’t forget pics. Good luck!
  5. Please stop telling people what to do. I’m also aware that this is a level thread which is why I suggested coilovers for leveling but I guess you missed that one in your urgency to critique me, didn’t know I had a groupie stalking me. I highly recommend anyone interested in superior CST products to contact CST and go from there.
  6. I feel ya, I was the exact same way. I’ve always had a lift on my personal trucks but with exception of a few purchased that way I preferred the leveled look mostly so I can get into downtown parking garages and worried about cutting up my cross members. Then, I was introduced to CST products and it completely changed my mind, very minimal trimming (mostly bolt on) and able to keep your stock front track, stock front end setup, as well as stock wheels. I was hesitant but very much worth it, the 4.5” lift is tons better riding than when leveled especially with the coilovers I added. If, and only if you’re not happy with your level, i highly recommend doing a coilover lift if only wanting to level, huge difference in ride quality but the front end UCA geometry is still not good. Good luck and be safe!
  7. Unless there are controversial spacers involved, you almost always get rubbing from mid 15-18 UCA’s. By the time you’re all done with a leveling kit along with added parts and hours invested you could’ve added a bit more and had a kickass CST Lift installed, keeping your stock everything, even stock 20x9 wheels with 35’s.
  8. Just got back from a kickass week overseas, very next morning while looking at my truck, decided my current 285/60/20’s didn’t fill out enough so I installed 295/60/20’s and now I likadatires! 285 295 Better side wall protection too
  9. You have a 1500, attached clearance lights...[emoji848]....aren’t clearance lights only found on 1 ton and sometimes 3/4 ton trucks?
  10. Incorrect information. What you’ve listed is some of the worst. I’ve personally owned the tri-fold BakFlip and it was garbage being built with paper thin aluminum, plastic locking mechanisms as well as dangerous while up, the rear view being blocked. The Retrax and Roll-N-Lock are considered the best. You get what you pay for.
  11. Very nice truck, congratulations
  12. Absolutely, you get what you pay for. Have a kickass Christmas!
  13. You did good getting into the 1500 and appreciate someone that doesn’t settle. I had the DMax, spend huge amount trying to get it smoother, finally after 1 1/2 yrs I ditched it for my 18 SLT 6.2, Z71 CC, loving it! I got $54K as trade in on that 16 LTZ Z71 diesel lol. I’m very happy with my setup too. My neighbor bought same truck as me for his son but with a 5.3. He wants to upgrade the suspension so he’s comfortable in it lol.
  14. You have rear King Shocks, and if so what’s the model info and your honest opinion on ride quality?
  15. Thank you. I’ve heard great things about King coilovers too. I only have experience with CST Suspension system which currently gives an amazing better than stock ride. Btw, I’d recommend whom ever you do go with to “please” get their expert advice as to their recommendations. Going with coilovers is completely unmatched in ride quality. CST guided me through the whole process as I’m sure King will do the same. Good luck and please do keep us updated. Have a great Christmas!
  16. Is this your setup?
  17. My experience with leveling: used front 2.25” spacers up front and added 1” on rear, UCA’s did not look to happy but it is what it is. Ride quality was rough even with brand new 5100’s front and rear. I’m sure the E rated tires didn’t help. My first leveled vehicle, needed to be able to get into my garage and still fit larger tires. I started looking into coilovers in order to get a much better ride quality taking the place of the front strut setup. After lots of research and raving results I decided to go with the CST 4.5” lift, utilizing front CST coilovers and Rear Shocks. I chose CST Lifts due to their craftsmanship (compare welds to other lift brands) and excellent reviews from installers as well as customer feed back. Some of the highlights is that you don’t get that forced wider stance track which in my opinion looks silly and you even get to keep your existing wheels. The quality is second to non and have been around for a long time without being bought out by other companies. CST is 100% made in America and is all built in house with superior quality control, something others just tac-weld versus full exceptional welding with even reinforced gussets too, wow! So far, blows away all lifted trucks I’ve owned and test driven, especially when leveled. I’d highly recommend if you’re interested in leveling to look at CST Coilovers, they level from 2”-3” but recommend leaving it at max 2.25” so you’re not needing a diff drop. I’ve encountered lots of people on these forums that claim it’s ok to level to 3”, BS! If you’re into quality and doing things right, checkout https://cstsuspension.com/ This pic is 2.25” leveled with 20x9 +1 offset. 285/60/20 This is the 4.5” lift with same setup but with all the goodies The ride quality is outstanding and you can fit up to 35’s as stated on their website. A buddy of mine went from 20x9’s to 20x10’s and went back to 20x9 as he did not like the look, feel at all and wasn’t practical.
  18. We’re all giving advice based on our experiences, you as well as many others may have not had the experiences that I including others have had but again, just giving personal experiences. Settling with something just states that someone is happy with what they’ve got, I personally do not want to own a lifted truck with a ride quality that I’ve settled for, I plan on keeping this truck for many years. That being said, I personally Apologize if I’ve offended anyone but again, different strokes for different folks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. My quotes are facts from experts not from do it yourself forum groupies. That being said, all metals corrode with salts and chemicals, best to buy what YOU can afford in order to get you the look until either you’re satisfied or can afford the best ride quality available. Different quality for lifts as there are for leveling from all brands, some brands prefer to just make higher end than others that prefer to just give you the look. Perfect example would be that Fox bought BDS not because BDS was doing well but because they were not doing well and now BDS sells well because of Fox quality shocks. Fact is you get what you pay for. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the best advise will be coming from an expert, one that’s got years of experience with an assortment of products. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Really don’t want to go any further with this but yes, ask a professional if coilovers are best ride available. Everyone have a Merry Christmas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That’s absolutely correct, to each their own. My experience is you get what you pay for. Anyone can get a lift but save up and get the best cause the look matters nothing as well as big shiny wheels. Ride quality is second to none with high quality parts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. You get what you pay for, Bilsteins are a great entry and way better than stock, stiffer. I’ll never use Bilsteins ever again after my CST lift and CST Coilovers with rear resi’s. Again, anyone can get the look, you get what you pay for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The Bilstein 5100’s are taller than stock shocks and that’s why they ride better than stock when you add to the rear block. My personal experience. I’ve only leveled one truck in my life and hated the ride quality. I’d highly recommend anyone interested in leveling or lifting to consult an expert that does installs for a living as that’s who guided me to understand better fit and finish. 24. Adding 1” to your existing 1” makes it two, highly recommended to switch out rear shocks for having a 2” in the rear so you do not over extend the cheap factory shocks. Bilstein makes the 5100’s, a very good entry to medium level shock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
