  1. I hear that the 2021 suburban does not have the 31 gallon tank any more and it’s 28 gal and Tahoe down to 24 gal. Can anyone confirm this? Having to Fill up more often with a pack of kids running late to practice.... please GM give us options for large fuel tanks!
  2. I don’t think there is much cost to using the 26 gallon tank they already had, down sizing it to 24 gal added cost. My point earlier was they add weight for all kinds of things people want but aren’t that popular... just seems like they need a large tank option.
  3. Looks like GM put a 50 gallon tank on there prototype desert race truck... 3:32 in. There is a need for larger tanks, come on GM put this 50 gallon under the bed and in production.
  4. Yes Sir! Large tanks are the best. Ram and Ford offer larger tanks GM gives no option for a larger tank.
  5. Yes Ram has a 33 gallon tank. They make it easy pick the options you want/need. Low gearing options too.
  6. Need to keep the column shifter for sure.
  7. Wrong F150 has a 26 gallon tank standard with a 36 gallon option, Rams tank is also 26 gallon. Ford super duty also offers a 48 gallon tank and Ram has a 50 gallon option. GM bumps there 2500 up to 36 gallons but they are still bottom of the pack in the 3/4 ton. Chevy and GMC don’t offer an option for a larger tank but they need too.
  8. Does the weight really matter... cut a little plastic off the fuel tank WTF? Extra speakers subwoofers add weight, The trailer break controller adds weight, the trailer hitch adds weight, the multi pro tailgate adds weight and it hits the trailer hitch when it goes down so really if you have the multi pro tailgate it should delete the trailer hitch, to save weight right?... The spray in bed liner adds weight. There is lots of stuff that adds weight that the aftermarket can cover and add later!! but the aftermarket cant cover the fuel tank so guess what don’t make it small. What a huge mistake and disservice to the customer shrinking the fuel tank size.
  9. I hear a lot of you saying you don’t really use your truck for much truck stuff. Don’t really tow, its good enough for the few times I use it as a truck, I need to look cool when I get the grocery’s I like to stop a lot to move around... so the small fuel tank suits me just fine. Well as GM trucks be come more car like small fuel tanks, high gearing, single speed transfer case the brand will be know for posers driving their trucks. Remember the military Humvee kicked off Hummer H1 it was cool because it was a capable off road machine then the H2 and H3 came out what a joke no off road capability like the H1 so Hummer became the brand for Posers driving on the blacktop.
  10. I think a 400 mile range when towing would be a minimum, your buying a truck right! Getting 10 MPG you need a 40 gallon tank to go 400 miles. The new 1/2 tons are like 3/4 tons use to be... a 1/2 ton rated at 13,000 pounds towing seems to be the new normal, it comes with a trailer brake controller these trucks are set up to tow! It seems to me GM forgot one critical peace of a towing rig a larger fuel tank! I Think a larger tank should at least be an option on any truck. A larger fuel tank should come standard with Max tow, trail boss and the 3.73 geared 10 speed off-road diesel what a sweet set up! they just forgot to add a large tank. GM down sized from 26 to 24 gal on the 1/2 tons that seems weird.
  11. A Honda Ridgeline maybe a better fit for you it has a small fuel tank too! it will be great for you because you get to stop fill up all the time. Keep in mind a Tesla has a short range too with a long charge time. This forum is for serious truck enthusiasts you may have better luck pushing your small tank justification somewhere else. Long hauls, heavy towing, even the soccer moms likes a large fuel tank so your not wasting time at the pump. The Chevy 24 gallon tank is just too small for Truck Enthusiasts! Lets make a good truck great GM needs a large fuel tank option!
  12. Being a “yes man” is the greatest disservice you can do to GM. Accepting a down sized fuel tank truly hurts the brand long term not to mention resale valve. I am a true Chevy enthusiast with hundreds of thousands miles under my belt on Chevy Trucks. This good enough attitude has keep GM in 2nd place for way too long, now Ram is budding momentum I guess 3rd place is good enough. I could act you and say go buy a Honda Ridgeline it has a small fuel tank and a signal spend transfer case! Why celebrate and defend these small steps in the wrong direction. We are all GM enthusiast and we want GM to put out a better truck then the competition. I really have not got to the root cause for this fuel tank reduction does anyone know? Why does GM only offer a 24 gallon tank? The competition is offering a 50% larger tank 36 gallons!
  13. I use my truck for so many things its about more then just a range for me. Extended idling using it as an office for work, off roading low speed all day, long road trips... I see so many pros to a large fuel tank. I see companies driving more effective out of their fleet trucks asking for larger fuel tanks to keep their employees from wasting time filling up. Chevy is missing out on so many sales when they don’t have to.
  14. I have a specific thread just for the small fuel tank issue. 24 gallons is totally unacceptable!
  15. Let me break it down real simple for you Pal. The GM tank is 24 gallons the Ford tank is 50% larger at 36 gallons! Think about that. I am not complaining about a small difference. It would be like if Chevy did not offer a Crew cab and your saying that a Regular cab is just fine. Well its not fine and you know it. Don’t hate the large tank Bro its not going to hurt you!
  16. This makes no sense at all! A Large fuel tank benefits everyone. If you like to stop at gas stations just fill your tank up half way or top it off every chance you get. I see dieselfan1 liked your post he is in small tank denial too!
  17. That makes sense. Super lazy engineering though
  18. That is a great point getting off the highway idling, stop and go kills MPGs! Then get back up to highway speed just wasting gas and everyone’s time! Thanks GM
  19. Really! Stay in your lane Bro! don’t worry about about me. Go find another forum to talk about mental health ! We are trying to figure out why GM is using very small fuel tanks in there trucks!
  20. Does anyone know what the fuel tank size is for the 2021 Tahoe/Suburban? I did not see it in there media release. Ford Expedition 23.6 gallons and Ford Expedition Max 27.8 gal. I hope GM bumps up there fuel capacity from the 31 gallon tank currently.
  21. Seriously who wants to stop at the gas station when you should not have too?! GM seems to be there own worst enemy. A 24 gallon tank is pathetic. Good enough will Keep GM from making good sales numbers. Lets come out with a cool truck then cripple its driving range so you cant use it! The small GM tank must be for the poser that has extra time on there hands to hang out at the gas station and move around.
  22. Yes a step in the wrong direction! No one is happy about it.
  23. Hey Bro don’t try and derail progress and don’t worry about me. We have a name for people like you “Energy Vampire”
