  1. Want to keep this truck. 2018 1500, 5.3l 200,000kms. Owned since new. NO problems yet. Want to refresh everything to keep it going an other 5 yrs. Daily commuter truck. Want to rebuild trans, w/ upgraded converter and tuning. And rebuild motor with AFM delete, all new lines, and gaskets, hoses, components, etc. Who's the go- to shop in Ontario thats trusted and experienced. Cost is not of my concern, done right the first time is. Thanks!
  2. Preparing to swap out my leaf springs for a new OEM set soon. Was under the truck having a look last night, to see what I'm in for, and It looks like the Fuel tank will need to be lessened, and wiggled to the side to get front bolt out for driver's side leaf. No problem. But for the rear bolts on bottoms of both shackles, it looks like the trailer hitch will be in the way? Does anybody know if the trailer hitch has to be completely removed in order to get the lowest bolt out? Leaving the shackles on the leafs to remove as one, but the bottom bolts dont appear to be able to come out far enough with our hitting the hitch. Thanks in advance. Always appreciated!
  3. Has any body installed 6112's at the lowest setting, for stock hight on a 2018 Crew cab 1500 Z71? I cant seem to find anybody that has. I was told they will give the best ride of bilsteins available. But I want to ensure I end up with. the same factory ride hight, as they come with their own springs. My truck wont go off road, but I do commute on some poor condition, paved "county" roads. I do not want to change the stock ride height. I like the original raked look and function. Thanks!
  4. I'm not honestly sure. but it definitely wasn't crazy high I dont think. I see many pontoons lust like it towed by 1/2 tonnes around here often. It's on the smaller side for a pontoon boat, weight wise. It's in storage now, so I can't access it to measure tongue weight.
  5. Not sure if its in my head or not, but I recently towed home a 20 ft .pontoon boat we bought, for about a 5 hr drive. I am worried now that my truck has lost a little height in the rear. possibly weakened the leaf springs, and squatted her some? very little, but It may just be in my head though. lol. It did squat the truck a little, when towing, but it wasn't drastic/gnarly. Is there a standard ride height measurement for the rear, and how do I measure it accurately ? I assume from centre of wheel, to bottom edge of rear fender? Any one have the same truck that could measure for me to compare? I'd really appreciate it. Truck is a 2018 GMC Sierra Crew cab, short box, Z71 4x4 SLE. w/265/65/R18 wheels. All COMPLETELY stock. And is there a way to tell by just looking at the leafs? I've looked at similar trucks while driving past some, buts hard to compare visually. with different wheel sizes. etc.
  6. Thanks men. Very appreciated.
  7. Hi, 2018 GMC Sierra Z71 4x4. 5.3L. 6L80E. 72,000kms. I just replied the trans fluid, and filter with new OE filter, and top AMSOIL fluid. Also, installed the updated 70 degrees thermo bypass valve. Do I need to have the trans "learning" reset after a fluid/filter service? I have read that these transmissions have adaptive learning to compensate for wear, fluid quality etc? Or will it relearn itself after driving and adapt to new, clean, slicker fluid. lol. Thanks!
  8. Loos like the Nitro's aren't made ins size anynore. I'll check out th hankooks, or the michelins for sure. Thanks!
  9. Ok, I need new tires for my 2018 GMC 1500 Are cab Z71 4x4. Riding on the factory Goodyear Fortitude HT now. 265?65?R18. Love them. Quiet, good ride, good handling and they are Wearing well. I would just get another set of them, but they no longer are in production. I have a set of snows on winter wheels, so I only use these in summer. Almost never leave the pavement with this truck. Looking for another highway tire for sure. But totally open an A/T because I have read that some of the newer designed ones, are as quiet and as good riding/handling as a H/T. Anybody comment on what you have replaced yours with? and how they compare? Thanks Men! Skip.
