  1. Yes, but I would not recommend doing so. GM sells it by itself (part # 84176756) but the clips that attach it are really not meant to be re-used. About 1/3 of mine would not completely snap back into place. If I remember correctly, there were also 2 small screws or bolts that secured it though. In the end it worked, but if you look really close in a couple spots you can see a very small gap near the edge between "chrome" piece and the one it attaches to.
  2. Anyone had their truck into the dealer for this yet? I thought mine had mainly gone away, but a few hot days and its back as bad as it was originally. The worst I get it is pulling out of my warm garage in the morning into cooler air and driving over the slightly different grades between my driveway and street.
  3. I'm getting fewer pops as time goes on. I just hit 1,000 miles.
  4. It doesn't really bother me either. I am just going to bring it up with the dealer, along with a handful of other issues the first time the truck needs to go in.
  5. Thanks for listening to it. Anyone else getting the noise I am in the video?
  6. I was hoping that we all had the same noise and that it was "normal" for these trucks somehow. Not that we are getting several noises and steering columns are being replaced!
  7. Here is a video of mine, you will probably need to turn the volume up high. Is this the same noise any of you guys have? IMG_2356.MOV
  8. Maybe the same noise, but different causes. Cold water on hot metal might be having the same effect as my driving over un-level surfaces at low speeds first thing in the morning. As long as it doesn't get worse I'm not going to worry about it. I know the dealer would just give me "could not recreate" or "normal operating characteristics" of the vehicle.
  9. Hoping my goes away too then, I only have about 700 miles on it so far.
  10. Ya, I try not to go into the dealer at all unless necessary.
  11. Did you figure out if it is doing it all the time and you just never noticed it or did it stop?
  12. If they say it's "normal" ask to drive another. Let me know what you find out.
  13. Trying to figure out if this noise is something all of the new trucks do. Mine is making a slight whining noise when steering at very low speeds. I checked closely for any obstructions between the wheel and steering column, there was nothing. The noise is always present and the tone does not change. Quiet, but easily heard with the radio off.
  14. Anyone getting a popping noise from their roof? Every morning when I pull out of my garage and go over a slightly angled transition between my driveway and the street I get a popping from the roof. I've heard it several other times when driving at low speed as well. It sounds like the sheet metal is flexing, like if you were to slightly indent a piece of sheet metal, it slightly indents and then you push it in another spot and it pops out of that indent. I have gotten a very similar noise from the lid on my washing machine. I do not have a sunroof.
  15. My local dealer emailed me the diagram using the vin from my LTZ. Maybe give yours a call and tell them what you're looking for. Then of course buy it online for much less.
  16. Here it is if anyone is looking to do the same.
  17. Thanks, the full part description makes more sense now. Hoping that's not the case. When I climbed under the other day it looked possible to undo all those retainers without removing the whole bumper. Quite possible there was something I missed though.
  18. Looks nice, I think I will just go into my local dealer..as much as a hate doing so.
  19. GM parts direct and other sites are calling that part # a plate package. Can’t find any images or diagrams using the part number on their site or others. Nothing on eBay and nothing on a google image search. Plate package sounds more like the mount kit for a front plate that I’m trying to get rid of. Do you have a link to where you found it?
  20. I have searched but can't find a part # for the circled piece or anywhere online selling it. It's just plastic, not metal and the fake chrome portion is one removable piece. I live in Washington State where front plates are required and the license plate mount came riveted to this piece with 4 rivets. Trying to remove and replace it with one with no holes and not mount a front plate, I hate them.
