OK, I spent over 2 hours trying to get through the grommet. I removed the black box but since the wiring harnesses to it are so short it didn't help much and I didn't want to remove all of the clips some of them were very tight. There are wiring harnesses right next to the grommet and I was worried about damaging them. So I gave up.
Next day I tried again, this time I pull the grommet out from the INSIDE as far as I could pull it out. This grommet has two parts, the outside part and an inside part. Grab it from the inside and pull it out. Sit on your running board, and reach up, pull it out of the hole and PULL. THEN from under the hood I slipped the wire NOT through the little nipple but on the outside of the grommet through inside the truck. I used thin hard wire that you use to wire up fences. It came through and I used it to pull the wire through although I had to go back and forth from outside to in, and I ended up PUSHING IT OUT FROM THE INSIDE since the wire had a plug on the end that was a little big.
For the light bar, I opted to not remove my grill, or drill my bumper. I installed a 12 inch LED light right under the licence plate bracket and I only drilled into the plastic air dam under the bracket that nobody will notice if i take it off and will not cause rusting. I hope that helps someone.
