  1. I was quoted $300 at my dealer. They said GM charges them $150 just for the firmware file to flash and they charge another $150. I'll probably keep asking. One thing I was wondering is if the stability control/braking/shifting are impacted by the speedometer. The dealer stated "only the speedometer changes", but that may have indirect impacts, no?
  2. Yeah, I should clarify I have a non-Bose, IOS system (LT)
  3. Just picked up a 22 2500 LT and the stereo is dog crap, just like my 19 1500 was... Anything over 1/3 volume, the bass rolls off and the highs just turn into a cat fight in glassware store. Ordered some Morel components up front and coaxs for the rear and have future plans to add a small sub and amps... What I'm really wondering is how much tuning anyone had to do with this truck with a new amp, or are you happy with using stock amp with new speakers, updating the amp, etc... Ultimate plan currently is to add a DSP and 4/5ch amp, but I'm trying to figure out if I'd actually get my moneys worth in sound quality improvement with a DSP. with the audiocontrol amps that have their accubass feature, I can regain the bass being rolled off, so hoping that'll be enough to not need a DSP. Car audio is not my forte... though i have background in amateur mixing as a musician.
  4. Wondering what came of your situation...Did you ever figure this out? I was able to relearn my existing tires, but not the new ones (off a 2021) I just purchased supposedly have the stock sensors in. I can only figure if they are there, maybe the sensors are asleep and need to be woken up by maybe a rapid deflate. I'm at work, so it didnt seem like a good idea to rapid deflate, lol.
  5. I picked up a set of lightly used 275/65r20 wheels off a 2021 denali for my 2500 I just picked up Saturday. I have the gas/6 speed and I’m wondering if there are any calibrations that I may need from the dealer for shift points or speedo. Wasn’t sure how speed was determined on these new trucks given they have gps I figure they may be able to self calibrate. I know the sizes aren’t too different and the ones I’m putting in are a stock size but I picked up my truck in transit so I was able to get it in 8 days compared to 8 months. haven’t even hit 100mi but it’s definitely an adjustment from my 2019 5.3L. Can’t wait to pull my trailer lol.
  6. I know you were trying to sell this, but I'm curious what you thought of the setup in the truck and what speaker setup you were running with it.
  7. I signed up for the webinar to find out more, but this is my field of work, lol. My guess is the telemetry data from the vehicles will be shared in addition to location data and there is probably an opt-out. My quick little soapbox: Systems like this will help agencies make better decisions to address safety on their roads, so I'm for it, but there are the obvious privacy concerns. What I can tell you though, is that cell phone data is already extensively used in this field and is basically impossible to opt-out of. So I'm curious how this system will differentiate itself from other available systems. I have access to a system in which I can select a segment of roadway and it will show me where everyone that drove through that section is going to and from (it's not as precise as you're probably imagining). It goes by road segments/census zones but doesn't show peoples paths to their houses or offices or anything like that, much more big picture). It allow me to make better decisions and understand how patterns have changed over the years. It get's all of its data from 'location services' of hundreds of apps. But either way, in the time of google maps and waze and other smart navigation systems, we have roadways that people are told to divert to that were OK for the 20 ranches that accessed them before but now they say it's 'faster' to use these side roads and it's causing real issues on our road network, road conditions and safety. There are other DSRC systems in many cars that will communicate with traffic signals as well and share speed and location data so it can better capture the flow of traffic. And many vehicles have the information shared with it "Green in 5.4.3.2.1" lol. There are a lot of different systems out there in the rapid world of IoT, it's really hard to keep up with. And another thing in terms of privacy, any data that's collected is 100% obfuscated so there isn't really anything on the end-users side that can identify who, only what. I had a bluetooth system that grabbed MAC addresses from vehicles that were passing by my systems but it hashed them all so the logs were unreadable to me. But it helped me better time our traffic signals.
  8. no problem. The mirrors I have are from etrailer and made by longview... theses ones show they're compatible with the HD. They're a great place to order from and pretty quick with the shipping. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Towing Mirrors - Longview (etrailer.com) This is where I got the RPO codes. You can generate the book by clicking the year, then ordering information, chevy truck, then click print book and there wil be a pop-up that allows you to generate your own book with whatever info you want, including RPO Codes. 9. Audio Frog a bit out of my budget tbh. I was thinking either 6.5/6x9/8 Focal or Infinity components in the front with the tweeter in the stock dash location, and some 6.5 coaxs in the rear doors. Looking at a few different Focal sets. I was leaning toward the 8" or 6x9 for the front for a little more thump, hopefully no needing a sub as I really need the space under the rear seat for tool storage I don't trust putting in the bed/toolbox. If I do, I would only be adding a mini powered solution under the drivers seat anyway, so I'm trying to avoid that. I'm leaning toward LLJs S.I.K. GX500 kit as it seems to be a good setup for quick SQ upgrade without requiring RTA or getting too out of control with my budget... $620+ for power cabling and wire harness with the 4channel mini amp, then about $400 in auditor series speakers from focal.
  10. Depending on when my truck comes in, I have some of the molded slide over mirrors I'll be getting rid of if you're interested, however they are still much smaller compared to HD trailering mirrors. RPO Code on my 2019 w/regular mirrors was DLF. You'd have to check part numbers to see if they're the same though. This is from the equipment group book for the 2500HD Normal Mirrors: DWI / DLN Trailer Mirrors are: DBG / DZC / DUD
  11. Can I ask why you are running your sub on 5/6 rather than your doors on the D6, and then your sub on a mono. Was it just a case of what you had around or was there a specific reason? I'm assuming the D6 1200 allows the Line output to be configured as a sub output or am I incorrect in that assumption? I'm looking at going with an audio control dsp (maybe dsp/amp) and was gonna run some focal components up front and some 6.5 in the back without any subs, hoping I can get a decently clear signal in that truck. The autobass feature of the AC DSPs is really what this truck needs, it just gets so damn harsh if the volume is anywhere above 1/3.
  12. yup. bummer though I'll have to keep my furrion 7" trailer system or go to the intellihaul/MVI solution. next one... haha.
  13. Ahhh... i got you now... so looking at the diagrams, there should be a heating pad in each side seat (#23) with a connector coming out the back to a harness (35)... I'm not sure where the harness is actually located and what it would be for otherwise. This was for a High Country since I already had it open, but I imagine it's identical. Seats & tracks. Rear seat components.. 2022 chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD | GM Parts Direct Online, Houston TX Poked around the upfitter stuff, so the fuse would be F1 on the driver side, but HIGHLY likely there won't be a fuse there. maybe they have some kind of blank fuse though? I know on my LT, that left hand fuse box doesn't even have the connectors for the fusers behind the slots. So if it has the contacts, that would at least be some good news to start. Locating that harness and maybe even the mounting bracket would be pretty huge. Maybe someone else can chime in on the actual location if it's under the carpet or behind the rear of the seats. This article... GM Announces Retrofit Solution for Heated Seat Shortage | News | Cars.com ... seems to provide some language making it sound like you won't have them since they mention a full delete, but I can't imagine they wont be able to retrofit. I'll keep digging cuz it gives me something to waste time on which means I'm not trying to find anything of my own to waste money on, that is of course this can be retrofitted into an LT with cloth seats, lol.
  14. Check the window sticker, at least in my scenario, there is pretty specific language on it... "INCLUDES LATER RETROFIT"
  15. I'm waiting on deliver of a 2022 2500 LT and my understanding from my dealership was this was an inconvenience credit so that GM could get the vehicles shipped out. The harnesses and parts that were available are installed, but because of the chip shortage, the control module likely isnt, therefore the buttons arent. Talk to your dealer, but my dealer said when the parts are available it will be retrofitted at no cost. In my case, it appears heated front seats are working, but the heated steering wheel and the front/back parking assist are not. This is from an email with their internet sales person in the lead up to my purchase... "The window stickers that have credits... So, what GM is doing to try to ramp up production is build more vehicles. In order to do so, the system that they have currently adopted is this, If a vehicle is ordered and accepted by production with specific features, including but not limited to, front and rear park assist, heated steering wheel, heated and/or front ventilated seats, they are building these vehicles to be eventually equipped with these features, but they may not be functioning at the time of delivery. They are planning on doing a retro fit at a later date with no charge to the customers as soon as the parts become more readily available. In the meantime, they will be crediting vehicle invoices for the inconvenience. "
  16. A lot of things to consider, wheel capacity (not just tire), axle capacity. The bags don't increase your payload by definition. Your load is now just resting on the rear axle now instead of slamming the jounce bumpers down on it. For sure be careful. I suspect theres probably about a 30% factor safety on most of the components and the leaf springs are the weakest point, intentionally. We can see how much it's being loaded by how the leafs react. If they were too stiff, there's too much chance people would think they were find and constantly overload.
  17. well... i ended up going for the well-equipped LT, which saved me some cash from going high country, but most importantly, saved me time. It's due for delivery this week week (they tracked the truck to the freight carrier about an hour away on friday)
  18. How is this with the backup camera? Does it interfere or actually look significantly better/less grainy than just the IR
  19. Thanks everyone. Removed it from the 1500 today to package up and sell.
  20. You used to be able to email the VIN to [email protected] and ask for the Build Sheet and it should show it. It did on my 1500.
  21. That's a good point. I've had two vehicles in the past with leather and just kinda hate the sticky and the maintenance, haha. I currently have the jet black cloth in my 2019 1500 so I assume it's the same and I've been happy with the comfort so far (18k). I'm checking out a pretty well-equipped LT tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.
  22. (Me Again, lol). I'm looking at a 2500 tomorrow and I currently run a Tekonsha P3 in my 2019 1500 and I'm wondering 1) how the chevy trailer brake performs and 2) if i could even use an aftermarket one anyway. I really like the controller as it's proportional and the inertial sensors are pretty solid from my experience. For the record, no one has seemed to ask a question or complained about the integrated on here, so maybe that serves as a pretty good answer but thought I'd ask more explicitly. Cheers
  23. Thanks! Perfect information. The one I'm going to look at doesn't have the UVN, but does have the PCM and also the PQB Safety Package. But I'm not seeing the bed camera. I'm wondering if that can be retrofitted though like the folks have done on the 1500 for the rear view mirror display. Replace the third brake light w/harness and good to go? maybe? no? lol. Appreciate the info.
  24. Right now I'm looking at going from my '19 1500 LT up to a '22 2500/3500 and I keep ending up in the LTZ/High Country trims just to get some of the safety features I want. However, I'm trying to figure out if the intellihaul 2.0 is the same actual system as the advanced trailering camera setup, or if it's different, just integrated? Seems that I could go down to an LT with conv. pkg 2 to get the IOS and use the intellihaul just fine, but not have the 360 surround vision? All comes down to dollars here, but trying to see what I can make work with the LT as I prefer cloth to leather, lol.
