  1. only a minor issue with the Mopar trans in the diesel.. https://moparinsiders.com/recall-2019-to-2020-ram-heavy-duty-models-transmission-fluid-leak-may-cause-fire/
  2. Thank you very much for all this insight! It may sound like I’m sold on the Ram in my posts. I’ve always thoughts dodge/ram/fiat stuff was all bunch of pos. It’s just when I started looking at all the 3/4 ton trucks recently that they actually started to look and seem so appealing over the Chevy and ford. owned a 2014 ford super duty xlt gas after 4 years and 35k miles. You couldn’t look at the truck with out something needing fixed. It was a pos. Fords of my list.
  3. Beside stiffer springs. Is there an axle size, ring size, etc diff between the 2020 2500 and 3500 hd diesels?
  4. Looked up values a 5 yo LTZ vs Laramie gas crew cabs only $1k diff in book value
  5. Source for this? is a 5 yo Chevy crew gas 2500hd really holding its value better then a ram would? ram supposedly fixed their known tranny issues
  6. Ram gas with the 4.10 axle 3k lbs better then Chevy. come on gm offer axle choices!!!
  7. On crew cab ram to Chevy the leg room is 3” in Chevy favor. In ram mega cab leg room is same as Chevy crew. Ram gives you 6” behind back seat. Chevy gives you the extra 6” in the bed And the overall trucks length is about the same. the mega cab weighs/and reduces payload 200lbs in the ram compared to the crew ram. Which is about 600/800 lbs in Chevy favor.
  8. Back to the topic. 2021 ram mega cab vs Chevy 2500 crew. Gas...... ram better 8spd and available 4.10. Both same length truck. Ram better interior. Ram 3k more towing w the gas. chevy 800 lbs ish more payload (2500 vs 2500) gas. everyone with a Chevy drools over a front coil lift replacing their torsion bars, which the ram has already up front (I know not ifs). So why should I consider Chevy???
  9. Good points. Will the gas Chevy get an 8 spd soon... probably. Same thing goes for the ram diesel 8 spd soon. I like that the overal Chevy crew is a little larger truck in both cab and bed space. Yes the center dash is hands down better in the ram. Ram will be upgrading the software and processors for 2021 for their nav units which was badly needed (think iPhone 5 to iPhone X) sounds like Chevy wont be doing any needed upgrades interior/tranny until at least the 2022 model. whivh is to bad as I need a hd truck next spring. To bad I can’t live with each truck for a few days and tow 9 k lbs some during.
  10. They did upgrade axle and frame strength and the 6.4 gas gets the 8spd. looking at axle ratings on the 2500 Chevy has a higher rear axle rating and ram has a higher front axle rating.
  11. Thank you for the great info. Larger interior sounds appealing. So on overall length is it worth comparing the mega cab ram vs the Chevy crew? The overall length is about the same
  12. Soooo pre COVID I had my new ram all lined up. Well that fell through so now I’m re looking at my options. I’ll stick with gas. No diesel. comparing New crew cab 2500 4x4. I don’t want this to turn into a pissing match between the two. Thoughts for anyone that has driven or experience with both. I’ll be towing a 8k boat sometimes. which cab is bigger? I like all the tec in the ram, but the simple Chevy almost seems safer from reliability ram payload much less due to coil springs ram tows 3k more with the 4.10 rear end.... all 4 corners coil with ram. Old school leaf and torsion with Chevy. more thoughts....
  13. As title says I’m headed to Midwest in coming months to grab my boat and trailer. I plan on picking up a new Chevy HD then. many differences in purchasing it from MI or OH? please ignore sales tax from this question
