Thanks for the info. Is it common for GM to offer goodwill for this type of failure? Also, any thoughts getting this repair with aftermarket parts vs OEM through a dealer? My mechanic says the bearing he gets are better quality than OEM.

Hi folks, 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 with approx 127,000 kms (79,000 miles) and I'm getting a loud hum from the rear end. My mechanic says its coming from rear driver side and is related to drive axle, not wheel bearing. Says to take it to dealer to see what they can do, as it should never have an issue with that low mileage. Anyone heard of this issue, TSBs or recalls? Thanks!

Hi folks I have a 2019 Sierra with the 5.3 8 speed tranny, and did the fluid/filter recall a little over a year ago while under warranty. Dealer said a software update was completed then. My mechanic just did oil and said it shifted a little rough on test drive, and that there was another recent software update for the tranny. Anyone know if there is a way to confirm this? My dealer charges me for a scan and update, if necessary. I want to check the versions somehow to see if this update is newer than what I have, and avoid wasting $200 on a scan, if necessary. Any thoughts? Thanks
