  1. I purchased (used) a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. It has the installed package for on-star, radio (w/Bose speakers), etc. which was very nice for the year. I can pair/connect my smartphone to the unit, for hands-free calling, but it looks like the radio is 'older than dirt' and will not accept bluetooth pairing; just the aux cable. So, the question(s) are about upgrading: Is it worth it, or not (i would have someone do it - not hands-on enough to tackle it myself)? Has anyone done it yet? Options - GMC or aftermarket? Just curious at this point, because I normally like leaving things as is... thanks for any info/suggestions.
  2. Thanks all! It's fun, as a first time pickup truck owner and having such a great vehicle (GMC). Yesterday, I had my mechanics put in the leveling kit. This past Sat, the "Boss" and I went up to Tibble Fork Reservoir, to check out some ATV trails that are pretty rocky. I was nervous, mainly being a "city boy" and never taking a truck on something like this. Really thought the leveling kit clearance on the front would help. I'm sure it will, as I can definitely tell the truck nose is up. Looking forward to bring the ATVs up this coming Sat (first time using the trailer with the truck). Have a great one!
  3. I have recently purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500, also with the 5.3 v8. I have the same happening, but it isn't like a near stall, or anything close to it. Does your engine have the automatic cylinder shut-off, for the highway driving? I was thinking that it may also do that to save fuel, when idling, but haven't read up in the owner's manual... just a thought.
  4. Surely. She is at U of U Redwood Clinic and they have had many of the new cases. Please wish all your graduates the best in finding jobs and being safe!
  5. I will be glad when we have a mitigation plan for COVID-19. My wife is testing folks 12 hrs a day, six days a week. It is not slowing down; in fact, it is creeping up. We'll be in this mish mash thru end of year, IMO. Plan on a UT GMC truck get together in '21. My 2 cents... YMMV R/, Norm
  6. We live in Riverton, but if not for Corona Quarantine, I'd be at the office in SLC. Hope to chat with you more about your new truck! R/, Norm
  7. Hi! The wife and I recently purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT (extended cab) in Summit White. Got a pretty good deal from our local CarMax and I've been a fan of GMC Trucks for a long time. We already took it on a long drive to Bremerton, WA and back (to see our grandkids). I have aspirations of keeping this truck in pretty good condition, as well as getting a more 'classic' GMC some day, for truck shows. We're new to it all, so looking forward to seeing what we can learn here and make new friends in the community. We are in the south part of the Salt Lake Valley. Thanks! R/, Norm
  8. Hi Miss D! I'm a new GMC Owner & new group member. Well, a new-used owner. The wife & I picked up a 2013 GMC Sierra SLT (in Summit White as well, but extended cab) for me (I already named 'him' Gramps!). My first! I've always been a fan of GMC trucks. Unfortunately, this is as old or classic as we could afford. Some day, we hope to have one of the true classic pickups, so we can get it restored and ready for shows. We live in the southern part of the Salt Lake Valley. I don't see a club of any sorts for our area, so let me know if you know of one... you can also PM me, if wanting to talk or meet us.
