  1. FURTHER UPDATE: In following up on my case number with GM, the dealership in my hometown said that GM has apparently worked out a potential solution and has a part on its way. I am not sure how it related to the bulletin posted earlier in this thread, but they want to try it out and see how it works. So hopefully this is a new permanent fix, but I drive my truck a lot and I will know fairly soon. I have an appointment this Wednesday to get it put on and we will see how it goes. If it works, I will get information on what they did and I will let you all know. Cheers
  2. UPDATE: So I had my truck back in to the dealership, as he had reached out to the GM engineering team and he opened a case number. They asked him to use the "chassis ears" on the truck to pin point the issue. That is what they did and it is definitely an issue within the steering column. They already completely replaced the steering column, but it is a manufacturing issue, so no matter how many times they replace it, the issue will remain. He said that he passed the information on to the GM engineering team and they are working on a solution. There isn't much else that the dealerships can do for us right now, but apparently, there are so many people screaming about this issue, that they are making it a priority. I am hoping that this will not take too long, but no one can tell for sure. I will repost, if I hear anything on my end. While this issue still isn't fixed, I am at least optimistic that we are heading in the right direction!
  3. I thought I would share an update on my issue so far, as I can imagine everyone on here is as frustrated as me. The initial dealership that I brought the truck to, did the following work so far: - Replaced the steering shaft (1st visit) - Replaced the entire steering column (2nd visit) The steering shaft replacement helped the loose/wobbly feeling in the wheel, but perhaps they were just tightening things up, so I am not totally sure what solved that problem. As for the rattle when turning at low speeds, none of this work helped at all and I'm getting told that these replacements would run well over $5,000. So that was a waste of money for someone. The second dealership I went to suspected that it was the steering box or the intermediate shaft. I suspected the intermediate shaft, as I was able to reach under the dash and hold the upper portion of the intermediate shaft and create the rattle somewhat with some firm jiggling. The second dealership ended up looking at it and said they went through everything and it was all fine. They said they checked and everything was tight, but that he did grease up a few parts to see if it would help. He then said that they tested it and couldn't hear the rattle. When I picked it up, I was able to hear the rattle as it was before I brought it in there. I am just at a loss for what to do next, as the steering column and shaft have been fully replaced and it did nothing to help. I even shared this forum with some of the dealerships, as I keep getting talked to like I am the only one having this issue and they look at me like I am crazy, as they claim they can't hear the noise. Finally this morning, one of the managers at the initial dealership txt me and said that another person brought in a truck and it is having the same issue. I absolutely love my truck, but if I had known these trucks were having these issues and the dealerships couldn't fix it, I never would have bought it. I will keep you all posted, as I am too stubborn to leave this alone, but I please keep me posted on your experiences as well. Cheers
  4. Finally, I am not alone with this problem. I just bought my 2020 Sierra Denali HD and the steering wheel was loose from day one. Additionally, there was an annoying rattle when I would go over humps like a driveway curb, while turning sharply at low speeds. They initially replaced the steering shaft and it helped with the loose steering wheel, but the annoying rattle was still there. Today they replaced the entire steering column and the rattle is still there and it’s just as bad. Three dealerships said they have never heard of this before and I was basically told today that I will just have to live with it until GM engineers a new solution for the steering column rattle. I’m losing my mind because I refuse to accept that answer, after buying a $100,000 truck less than two months ago. From researching it online, etc. some people have talked about the steering box being the problem in older models, so I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has a 2020 and had the entire steering column replaced? Was the rattle still there? Were you able to ever get it fixed? If so, what was the ultimate problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
