  1. Was able to pull the pan today, see picture below. Magnet looked normal to me. Fluid was brownish but not burnt. I'll be replacing the converter this weekend https://imgur.com/a/3dXE80b
  2. I had to drive another 200 miles home after it happened. It wasn't slipping or anything. I guess I'll see when I drop the pan.
  3. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 with only 65000 miles. 5.3/6L80E 4wd. Today when driving on the highway the truck randomly dropped to 4th gear and wouldn't upshift. After a key reset it initially shifted to 6th and then the CEL popped and it dropped to 4th. I was able to get it home but it held the gears until 3k rpms and it would only go up to 5th gear when I hit 70mph. Doing some research it seems this points to a worn TC. I am going to drop the pan first and make sure the Trans isn't toasted first. Is there anything else I should look out for? I don't have a lift and plan to drop the tranny in my driveway and swap out the TC, will there be enough room underneath the truck? TIA
  4. Do you mind explaining why my truck will not be happy towing a 4600 lb trailer?
  5. Hello all, I’ve got a 2015 Silverado CC 4x4 with the 5.3 and the basic tow package. Only mods are LT tires, CAI, and a 91 tune. Wife and I got the camping bug and I’m going to pickup a Coleman Lantern LT 274BH this weekend 6 hours away. It’s 28 ft long, has a dry weight of 4700lbs, pin weight 582 lbs, and a gross weight rating of of 7600lbs. I don’t see how we’d ever load up the trailer to max capacity but who knows. I did get the dealer to throw in and install a WD hitch with built in sway control before the drive back. I’ve done a lot of research and it seems most are worried about the payload before hitting the max tow. My yellow number on my drivers door jamb is 1700lbs. Is there anything I should be concerned about with towing this trailer?
  6. Whether it makes a real difference or not it’s just going to bother me too much. I’m not going to bother trying to go back to that shop because I know they won’t admit they made a mistake. i think I’m going to order the Dynomax 54704 tailpipe, it’s a 3” pipe from the muffler back, and just get it welded up. Looks like I can pick it up online for under $100. A 3” single pipe should leave plenty of room for improvements later on correct? Does anyone have a better idea?
  7. Today I had a 14in magnaflow put in (12229) and the resonator and flapper cut out. It sounds great. I was just taking another look at it and noticed the pipe is a little smaller. The resonator And flapper portions were replaced with 2.5” pipe. Will this be a problem or a noticeable performance loss? never gave them more specific instructions I just assumed it would be the same size as the rest of the exhaust. The only other mods I have planned is a tune. Thanks.
