I'm going to pick up a new harness adapter today. I have a question about the parking break wire, I understand it needs to be grounded in order to have the functions on the radio, but is there a way to hook it up to the park gear instead, just like when you put the truck in park, the doors unlock. Cuz as you all probably know, you usually dont engage the parking break every time on a truck as you do a standard car.

Thanks for the replies. I figured out the radio problem, it is simple. The am/fm antenna on the hood is not there. Dunno how i didn't notice. I'll have to get another one and screw in. As fo rthe XM, i guess the truck is not equipted with it, even tho it has a fin antenna on the roof. I am going to get the correct adapter and fresh rewire the new stereo I put in. I ordered this from amazon for XM. Hello. I just purchased a 2011 silverado, and there are a few things i just cant figure out. One is, there are no door chimes aor warning chimes. The speakers are working, just none of the trucks chimes. Also I cant seem to get radio signal, or sirius xm signal. It had a 3rd party radio, and I installed another one with bluetooth and sirius xm.
