  1. I put the black Westin ProTraxx4 nerf bars on my Sierra 1500 last week......they are just way too low and I won’t be able to live with them. Now I’m trying to choose between Rough Country HD2 and GoRhino RB20.....any advice on either? I’m in New England so durability is important to me. Thx for any help......and lemme know if anyone wants to buy my Westin nerf bars!
  2. Thanks all.....I appreciate your feedback and advice on this. I was definitely confused when they said there would be “electrical problems”.....my simple brain always thought that REMOVING something from an equation made things easier.....apparently not in this case....?? When the new window comes in, my service dept will book their “glass guy” for installation. Does the “glass guy” just stick the window in/on and then hand it back to the the service dept so they can do (hopefully) the GMC-specific stuff (replacing the gaskets, nuts, washers, sealant, etc because the spoiler was removed)? I’ll be asking these types of questions when I call my service rep early next week to touch base and set up an installation appointment. As always, thoughts on this are welcome. Thx.
  3. Thx....will do. I was in lock-step with you about the non-slider approach......maybe you’ll get a different answer should you inquire at your own service department......but hopefully you WON’T have to cuz your window will be leak free! I need to stop being so pessimistic about this situation.....feeling like this is the proverbial can being kicked down the road....a “fix” until the next “fix” until the next “fix”......time to start some + thinking about my new window that’s en route from Motown........
  4. Just spoke with the service manager again......anything other than a sliding rear window is apparently NOT an option (said electrical problems would be a certainty.....??)....so new slider it is. He also said that the replacement window they’ll be installing next week has a “new part #” so it’s possible that a new repair approach is in effect..... . Uhhh...hooray??? The dance continues.......
  5. Just got the call-back from service dept......confirmed the leak in the rear slider and ordered a new one which should arrive MON. I inquired about getting a NON-slider installed and the gentleman said he would contact GM and see if that is possible. We spoke for several minutes, had a good conversation, and he seemed to genuinely understand my concerns and my curiosity regarding other options (ie: non-slider). So I guess I was expecting a re-seal to be performed first.....but instead it’ll be a new window. Ideally I’d love to keep the sliding rear window...it’s a great option.....but if a non-slider would solve the leak issue (???), I’m all for it. Any opinions/advice/thoughts would be welcome....that’s why I’m here.
  6. We’ll see......heard nothing yesterday so I just called service dept....waiting for call-back. I’m totally with you on the non-slider install approach.....pretty depressing that I’m thinking about that happening more than I am about my current issue getting fixed. Oh well, fingers crossed.
  7. Picked up my 2021 GMC Elevation less than 2 weeks ago and just dropped it off at dealer service this morning for the rear window leak. I’m SO disappointed in myself for not having read about this issue while doing my pricing/optioning/etc research before I bought......guess I’ll just have to see where this inevitable ride takes me. Awesome forum BTW.....glad I joined...learning tons...thanks all.
