  1. Yep the chip shortage is real. I work in an industry unrelated to automotive, but we use the same chip that is currently in short supply. It is a pain, but it will get sorted out, eventually. I feel bad for everyone whos waiting on a vehicle - so frustrating. I lucked out and found one that was already built. You can trust GM wants to ship the trucks. Have patience (and maybe ask the dealer for some free service coupons because you had to wait so long).
  2. ^ This. The supply chain shortages are a reality for a lot of industries right now (the chip thing is real). It's because everyone throttled back when covid hit, and now the demand has recovered the supply is playing catch up. Sit it out, and you will be able to negotiate a fair deal by the end of the year.
  3. ^This. I moved to NC from NH, and got pegged in VA. A court appearance is also required (had to hire a lawyer). Radar detectors are illegal. VA considers speeding tickets a state revenue source.
  4. Maybe these: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-assist-steps-off-road-84630475 They look like the high clearance steps that came stock on my AT4.
  5. I ran across this site when looking into a similar question. It's for wheels, but you can compare tire sizes too. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=265-70-18X8.5ET26&wheel2=285-75-18X8.5ET26&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm The "fit" of a different size tire always involves some compromise in terms of fender/suspension clearances. I would expect 35" tires might rub at full suspension travel or full turn lock. I thought I saw somewhere that 33's were the largest "no issues" tire. 33"s ~= 275/70-R18.
  6. I would be willing to bet GM requires a reprogram either for warranty reasons [dollars], or regulatory reasons [emmissions - which is also dollars if they get sued]. Why would GM provide the reflash for free unless it is averting a potentially higher cost for them in the future? In the words of Henry Peterson "...Follow the money..." .
