  1. Look man, plain and simple I would have not bought the truck if it didn't have functioning CarPlay as it is something important to me, just like I am sure there are features on your truck that are important to you. Everyone is different and have different needs, there is no reason to put someone down because they have different priorities than you. I spend a lot of time on my phone in my truck and CarPlay has made business far more productive while driving along with providing a safer experience. GM has admitted that this is an issue on their end and not one on Apple and that they currently do not have a fix for it.
  2. Wow! Clearly you have issues with Millennials, did one of them offend you in some way? Why would I buy Sirius if I already have a Spotify subscription? Why in the F would I use an atlas when I have something called WAZE, that gets me to my destination faster due to an amazing technological algorithm? Dude, you make zero sense in any of your logic.
  3. First, nice job on editing "millennial rant" after your original post. I don't think the case is closed, because you don't like to use the technology that the truck came with. I like being able to see the navigation on the screen and also being able to select the playlist on the fly from Spotify without looking down at my phone.
  4. I get what you are saying, but I use Carplay everyday. I do not like looking down at my phone to look at Google Maps or Waze for directions or voice texting, hell I wont even rent a car that doesn't have Carplay.
  5. Yes, you have to use the cord in the 2019. I have tried multiple cords, phones, and all three ports. They also put a new infotainment center in a few weeks ago and the issue happened within the first 15 miles.
  6. What ended up happening after the lawyer got involved?
  7. I am beyond annoyed and frustrated with GM and my local dealer. The infotainment system in my truck has been restarting while connected to CarPlay since I got it, however, over the last few months it has been happening almost every-time I drive (most trips are <10 Miles.). I have had it in the shop four times in the last three months and the dealer has had it over 30 days. The dealer said that hopefully there may be a fix coming in January. The dealer offered to "buy" the truck back at the trade in value and sell me new vehicle at list. They also told me that if GM were to buy it back it would be for less than trade in, which does not seem right to me. I told the Dealer's Service Manager that I wanted GM to buy the truck back and he said that he would get back to me. I have also called GM Customer Care and was assigned an advisor, but cannot get a call back for the life of me over the last two weeks, despite spending hours on hold. This is my first GM truck as my last five were ford, does anyone have any advice on how to get a resolution?
  8. Has anyone had any success with this? The Dealer I am dealing with Dallas cannot replicate the issue and GM will not authorize replacing anything, I am at a loss on this. It is annoying as it happens almost every time I drive the truck and am connected to CarPlay. This is the first GM product I have owned after the last 5 trucks were Ford and this will definitely be the last.
