Back over the winter I started having an issue where the infotainment system on my 2020 Silverado 1500 Duramax would not start on cold mornings. It was just completely blank.
A few weeks ago I took it to the dealer (still under warranty) and they were able to confirm that the "radio" was bad and needed to be replaced. This was encouraging as a lot of what I was reading on the web said most dealers were not acknowledging the problem, or else calling it a software issue and sent the owner on their way with a useless software/firmware update. I'm no car expert but I am a computer expert and I'm pretty certain that cold weather usually affects hardware, not software.
Anyway, they said the part was backordered from GM and would call me back when the part came in. 3+ weeks later and it's still backordered.
Anyone else having this problem and stuck waiting for the part? Is my dealer clueless about how to fix this?
