  1. My finale comments on this as I no longer have a dog in this fight, Sold my 2021 LTZ Z71 6.2 this year with 17K miles after finding the glorious glitter in the oil. Yes I lost my a$$ on it. @ 70 I thought this would be the last truck I would buy and the first show room new. I was a die hard GM fan owning many Silverodo's and GMC's over the last 50 years. Gone are the days of driving a GM truck 250K-350K miles with proper maintenance. Will I ever buy another new GM truck...Only if early 2000's or back. I do want to thank everyone here for there support and help. Great forum. Not leaving the forum just dropping back to the older truck section. Good Luck to everyone with there issues.
  2. May wait a few years and look into a 2500 until than....Drive my 2000 GMC Sierra, it has never let me down,
  3. They way I see it if it passes how long before it does fail... I sold my 21, did not want to worry when and were I would be when it did fail as I used it for long distance trips pulling a car trailer to shows. Worst part was the loss in value!
  4. You should get the 10 year 150k mile warranty.
  5. So its time to replace my headlight and turn signal assembles. 2000 GMC Looking for advice, don't want the cheap Amazon stuff,\. Was looking into Rock auto and found two that reviews are good TYC & Dorman. Any advice as to quality or other brands accepted. Have sanding and re-cleared the originals about 5 years ago. TY
  6. $44K It was still like new, still smelled new inside 17,500 miles.
  7. Sold my 21, I hope its ok to stay, I am looking for a 2500.
  8. I went to both Carmax was in person offered $35K for my 21 Z71-LTZ 6.2 10 speed 17K miles every option. list price was $66K. Carvana offered $37K.......
  9. TY.. And just for reference this is a fully loaded Z71, LTZ 2021, in like new condition with only 17k miles.....
  10. I never said they do, They offered to until they found out it was a 6.2. Even offered $44K............................. Than everything changed!!!!!
  11. 100%, I even tried to trade it on a new 2500!! Looks to me that GM has told the 6.2 owner to F off!
  12. So went to my GM dealer today to sell my 6.2 and buy a 2500, This was the response I got!! Dealer: So the VIN# tells alot...I can't buy your truck anyway. There is an open recall with no remedy and has been put on the stop sale list...Manufacturer dealers cannot sell them. It would sit on the lot until there is a remedy and there is no expected date of remedy. Me: So all it needs to to have the test done and it gets a 10year 150k warranty. You as a dealer should know this and can have it done. I as a GM customer have to wait in line. I have addressed this with GM many times. Dealer: I understand what you are saying. I am simply passing on what my GM is saying...we have several already parked on the back line with this issue waiting for the remedy on the stop sale. He informed me that until it is lifted or corrected we cannot purchase it.
  13. Sorry to get this thread side tracked...My concern was hard start when hot..
  14. Issue never changed same with old and new battery. One other thing I noticed was my volt gauge for the last 4 years was always at 14v, The last few months after starting it is a 14v then drops down to 13.8..13.5v. Even at night running lights...
  15. Only 17K miles have changed to 40w oil about 2k ago. have not received the recall part 2 yet.
  16. So here is a question on the effects or the failure of the bearings and how one might tell if they are getting close to the failure point.. As of the last few thousand miles I had noticed my truck was getting slow to start, So I replaced the battery thinking 4 years old sits for a few weeks at a time change battery. No Change in issue. I went on a trip last week 1400 miles starter always spins fast first start up on a cold start. Thru the trip on hot starts was like the started was dragging but it always started Ran fine good oil pressure. Could this be an indicator of trouble to come?
  17. Was offed $32k for my 21 Z71 LTZ 6.2 10 speed with all options still like new 16k miles.......
  18. I'm not sure how they determine your place in line. I have only received the 1st letter at this point, and my (2021) vin is at the start of the recall. You would think I would have been contacted. Oh well I have a couple of 2Kmile+ trips coming up I I'll see what happens!
  19. Not so sure its done by vin# mine is one of the first on the list in 21. Still not gotten anything but the 1st letter!
  20. I agree but still a position I would rather not be in! I use it for towing my car's to shows all over the US just hope the fail is not when I'm 1k to 3K miles from home! Last trip was 5K round trip!
  21. My biggest issue is I have no choice but to keep my 2021 until it fails, I look at it this way the resale or trade in is now in the tank. I paid $64K In 2021, have put 16K miles on it thats 4K a year it is kept inside still looks and smells new, and now the value is $35k or about $7500 dollars a year. I have never lost that much on any GM truck. My 2000 GMC SLE I paid $27K for has 130k 25 years old and is still worth $5000.
  22. My guess is they want you to trade, that way they make more $ off you.
  23. So my next ? is what parts are they waiting on? From my research most all the dealers have the diagnostic tools to do the test. If the motors need replaced letting the owners know would not hurt anything.
  24. Got a letter stated it may be a few mouths before anything is done, stated NO recall has been issued yet on my truck? No Parts available. Not sure how that plays into the inspection?
