  1. Install the spring things as suggested by Dogdad and yes it fixed it!!
  2. Just over 1500 miles Avg 18-20. Best 24 on a trip. 13-14 towing a car trailer with a 3200lb car.
  3. Bit off topic, but do you need a relearn tool when rotating tires?
  4. Had my new 1500 mile Z71 hit in the left front by a red light runner going 50+ MPH in April. Bent the frame and front cross member along with associated body parts. No air bag deployment. Same story as you would need the frame replaced. The repairs were listed at over 30K, The insurance totaled the truck within 2 weeks.
  5. You may want to read this
  6. First I'm just confirming your earlier posts. Maybe you misunderstood, I know what axle/wheel bearing play is been restoring cars and trucks for over 40 years. I am grabbing the top of the tire with it on the ground and shaking the truck from side to side, I had my buddy do this while I was under the truck and can hear and feel the spring move at the ends at the plastic cushions. The plastic cushions are making the groaning/clunking sounds I hear as they move. As a test I placed small rubber shims between the spring cushions and the steel leaf and the sounds completely stopped, this would be why when many have taken them to a dealer and the dealer lubricated that area the sounds stopped until the lub wore off. Thanks for the tip on the spring thing ordered today.
  7. 1400 miles has done it from about 500. After reading this complete thread going to try the spring-thing. Very easy to reproduce the sound just by rocking the rear tire from the top, you can put your hand on the spring and feel the leafs move as the sound is made. Will update when done!
  8. The only thing power is the locks.
  9. Was not an option I was looking for but the truck I found had everything else I wanted, I did not think I would like it at first but after about a month of ownership I find it every useful in loading. Closing the upper section is a bit of a pain when fully open as you have to hold down on the gate and close it first or the complete gate tries to close making it awkward to close. I'm over 65 so getting in the bed is not as easy as it was 20 years ago LOL.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'm not big on the sunroof but finding one with the options I wanted was tough. it was part of the package on this truck.
  11. Great info. Location of the drain lines I guess this can be done by the owner?
  12. New here and can not sent PM, Been reading about the DFM, would you be able to run a build sheet on my 2021? Thanks Steve
  13. Lots of good info. here thanks. So now that the newer trucks have dropped the display showing the V8-V6, other than hooking up a scanner there is no way to tell when or how many cylinders are operating at any given time?
  14. Thanks all, was hoping I hit the lottery and missed out on it. My first 2021 had the 5.3 without out it, unfortunately I only had it 3 weeks and got hit head on by a red light runner and it was totaled so I got the 6.2 version when I replaced it.
  15. Thank you for the information, The window sticker just notes 6.2 ECOTEC3 V8. So I *guess* this has the DFM.
  16. Thanks for adding me. I just got a 2021 Silverado Z71, I have been around GM trucks for over 50 years, this is my 1st new one. I have a question regarding the cylinder cancellation (AFM), I have been doing a lot of research read that some 2021's did not have this due to the mico-chip shortage but nothing that will help me find if I do or don't . How can I tell if I have it or not? My engine code is L87. build date 3/21. My buddy's 2017 has a display that tells him what mode it is running in ie: V6-V8. I do not maybe this was dropped in the newer models.
