Yea thanks for the reply but I did replace the HMI module at it worked but now it’s off agin and the people where I bought the hmi module said that’s because my ACM module is out. It displays “audio off” on the small screen where my gauges are.

What exactly is happening to your screen ? Does the back up camera work when in reverse? Can you charge your phone or have you lost all power and control of audio controls ?

I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado and I have been having trouble with the entire radio and screen .. I recently replace a bad HMI module that I got from infotainment.com and it solved the issue. Now the screen is back to black and the display where the gauges are says “audio off” any idea why ?? Anyone have this issue I tried everything. Maybe I need a new ACM module now? HELP !

I have this same problem it just started a couple weeks ago I have a 2017 Silverado.. but before this happened my screen said “waiting for system update” only the camera worked and I could only control the radio with the steering wheel. I took it to the dealership and paid $165 and they told me it was the HMI module so I got one online for $500 preprogrammed to my VIN. It worked great but now like I said the screen is black and says “audio off “ in the screen between the gauges. Did you get it fixed?? Or find out what was the problem? Let me know I need help

So I have posted on here I needed help with the screen in my 2017 Silverado and tried everything and nothing worked took it to the dealership and they said I needed a new HMI module and of course they wanted my soul to replace it haha so I went on to infotainment.com and bought one that was pre programmed to my trucks vin I put it in myself it wasn’t hard at all but now the radio doesn’t work at all and the screen doesn’t come on at all either. Am I missing something? Befor the new HMI I could control the radio with the steering wheel and the back up camera would come on .. now with the new one nothing comes on at all. I was told it shouldn’t need anything other than the new HMI … anyone know what I need ?

I gave it all a try all the fuses that have to do with the radio/hmi module and disconnected the battery. Nothing worked so I’m just going to replaced the hmi module myself it’s super easy to get to and remove I took it out once already to look at it. So I found some used ones on eBay and some websites where they preprogram them for you by giving them your truck info once you buy it. Waaay cheaper than the dealership. So I’m going to be doing that this coming week

So I’ve had this issue with the screen displaying “waiting for media update” on it. I can’t control the radio with the screen or controls.. I can only with control the radio with the steering wheel and the back up camera still comes on when in reverse but I tried everything I disconnected the battery for long time and saw a lot of different videos and posts and nothing worked. Finally took it to the dealership and paid 165 for the diagnostics and turns out it’s the HMI module but they don’t know exactly what is wrong with it so they wanted to replace it for 950 on top of the 165 so I said pass. Any update on the issue or did you get it fixed…Just went to the dealership for this issue as well paid 165 they said it’s the HMI module.. they don’t know exactly what but I want to try some of the stuff on the this link https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10139097-9999.pdf but idk where the hmi fuse is .. if not I’m just going to buy one online myself and install it it’s super easy some places sell the hmi model pre programed to you vehicle specs based on your vin

Thanks now that I think of it my wife plugged in my kids tablet to charge it then after he pulled on it it unplugged and seconds later that popped up

Thanks .. but I called and walked them through it and showed them a video of what's going on . They said it could have been triggered by charging something that had files in it and needs a rest .. it would cost 190 to look at it and 200+ to fix

So I have a 2017 silverado LT and last week out of nowhere the screen went black and the "waiting for media update" came on. It's been like that till now it pops up and then after a while goes back to black screen. The Camara does work when in reverse with no "service" type sign I can control the radiowith steeringwheel.. I tried the hmi cable under the glove compartment and no luck . I disconnected the battery but it won't reset.. everything is the same . ANYONE KNOW ANOTHER WAY TO RESET THE COMPUTER??? HELP !
