  1. I am researching issues, including the plug and play harness issues for a 2022 Silverado Crew Cab, w/ the multi flex tailgate, 3.0 Duramax, with the advanced trailering package. Leer states plug and play is now available and trouble free (trust but verify). The Leer keyless entry was also ordered for my truck topper. I also want to make sure they are not poking holes in all my wires to figure out how to wire the topper. My last concern is the interior power for the interior lights and the triple cigarette lighter package. The Leer dealer is insisting they run those wires ALLLLLLLLL the way to the battery. I told the dealer for that power source he was out of his ever loving mind and that he would do no such thing! I told the dealer that when he can prove that they have the correct plug and play 7 pin adaptor harness that they (Leer) state is now available, they need to grab the interior power from Pin #4 of the 7 pin adaptor. Pin #4 is 12 Volt positive constant hot all the time to keep the trailer house battery charged when towing. I thought running the power ALLLLLLLL the way from the front of the truck instead of from behind the rear bumper was the stupidest thing I had ever heard of. There is no freaking way I need an extra 30' of wire run to the front of my truck that can act as an antenna to pick up signals from the ECM and all the electronic wizardry in these newer vehicles and be re-transmitting it the length of the truck causing RF (radio frequency) issues and having all the voltage loss from going all the way to the battery. Leer should have short training video's for their installers. They also need to teach their installers to double the gasket at the bulkhead ({top} front of the bed) where there is always a leak because the bulk head metal front is lower than the side plastic bed rail covers. I will also verify with the local Chevrolet dealership the correct harness color codes for the wireless remote wires. I know they source the connection from under the driver front sill plate.
