True about the plastic tabs. Broke two in the whole tear down. Nothing major, one I may replace from the pillar handle if it doesn’t seat back in well enough. The plastic is so much cheaper in the new chevys. I am not new to tearing
I started looking for where to come through the firewall. It came down to “one more” screw in a few areas to get to where the main harness comes through and decide drivers vs passenger side. Turned out it helped with the whole project under the hood. I plan to post a thread with what I did so far. needed these switches for future additions or mods and for my BlackVue 900 cam and escort radar. I like seem less integration.
I plan to try your tap local for the ambient light for the switches, less than a amp draw… should be ok. If not, I will probably wire a independent dimmer for that and other future ambient lighting upgrades. Truck is 1.5 months old or so.
Great question. I have been adding a totally independent busman fuse box and need to find a dimmable source wire to tap for the ambient switch lights. I put a 6 switch panel above the over head console.
