I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 LT that I got and it came with no backup camera. I then was in an accident and had to buy a new tailgate. I got a tailgate off a Silverado 1500 LT that was a 2015 but had the backup camera handle already on it along with the plugin. I tried plugging in that plug to one of the existing in the wiring harness on my truck and there was not a free space. I even tried unplugging the lock plugin and putting the camera plug in that. The issue is that the backup camera plug only has 6 prongs, the factory ones on my wiring harness have 8 prongs so they do not fit into each other and I have yet to find a plug that it will fit into. I am wondering if it is possible or I need to order some other things. I have read it is possible on other forums but cannot figure out how to make it work.
