Hi Folks, newbie poster here. I searched for specific instructions on how to run a wire from the Silverado 1500 crew-cab cabin to the camper bed, and couldn't find anything beyond 'look for a drain hole' so decided to write it up here in case anyone is interested. This install is pretty clean and functions great. 1 - Find a drain plug in the rear of the cabin (Pic 1a). There are a few there, I picked one closest to the door. It is about 14 inches in from the edge on a diagonal, see where the tip of the tape is in this picture (Pic 1b). 2 - Pull back or cut the carpet around the drain plug to get access to it (Pic 2). 3 - Using a flat bladed screwdriver, pry the plug out (Pic 3a). It is glued in so takes some prying to get it all the way out, then see the clear hole through (Pic 3b) 4 - Drill a hole in the center of the plug about the same diameter as your wire to go through (tight fit is better than loose), then (if the wire already has plugs installed on the ends) using a hack saw cut from the edge to the hole (Pic 4) 5 - Work the wire into the drain plug (Pic 5a), then reinstall the drain plug (Pic 5b). 6 - Put the carpet back down over it neatly (Pic 6). In my case, there is a factory mat and then a WeatherTech mat on top of that, so nothing will be seen underneath that, which is why I was comfortable cutting the carpet. 7 - I zip tied the wire to the frame underside using holes in one of the rails, then fed it back up behind the cabin, through the window in the camper shell, and neatly routed it back to the rear camper window (not pictured). So now have 12 volt power in the camper, controllable by a switch in the cabin, for running a dashcam or anything else. I hope this is helpful to other folks.
