I know this topic is over a year old but does anyone have an update? I've got the same issue on my 17 GMC Sierra SLT with the IO6.

Upper stamped steel control arm are ball joints replaceable?

Hello, I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 4x4 with stamped steel control arms. I noticed my Upper ball joint boots are ripped. I see O'Reilly's and AutoZone offer replacement ball joints for them but I can't find anything online about someone doing this, Most things just show replacing whole control arm. Thanks for any help! Edit : Yes you can, the ball joint part number is Part #: K500340
