I am having the "pop" also. After 3 trips to the dealership and it getting elevated to their senior mechanic, they found that there were damaged alignment pins that were allowing the assembly to shift. They have ordered a new kit that is supposed to be more robust, so we'll see if that fixes the issue. Alignment is a known issue on Silverados on the upper control arm also, due to the adjustment slot allowing creep. There is an aftermarket with holes instead of a slot. I may have to go that route also.
