While Chevy/GMC might have motivations to use a non-standard connector to ensure that other equipment (ie cameras) do not damage their IOT system, there are other ways have a easy to use, high performance waterproof RF connector using standard parts AND still allow protections to external equipment. As designed, a new camera system is about $500 if you have a damaged connector / cable. Shame on Chevy / GMC. This is not the way to delight your customers.
I have an intermittent cable. I can get it to work if I wiggle it to the right spot, but if I drive around a corner and it stops working. Has anyone one out there successfully cut open the connector or spliced the cable or connector to repair it?
