I asked my dealer what the name of the piece was. They said it was a wire harness connector (and they called it an Ethernet connector) beneath the glove box on the passenger side. The male pins were getting bent by the female receiver and once they replaced the female part, smooth sailing ever since. Hope this helps! Cheers.

My audio is back to true uninterrupted sound again. I have not been back to the dealership to find out what the connector they fixed was but it was definitely the culprit that has caused me grief over the last 3 years. I know they told me initially what it was but I do not know enough about the electrical system to really understand. I just know the connector was bent and changes in the temperature would allow it to temporarily expand enough to lose connection and thus no sound.

My stereo is working again. There was some connector under the dash they found that was bent and when they replaced it this time, so far I have had 5 days of audio back. I’ll try and find out exactly which connector it was, maybe it’s a common issue that can be fixed or cause a recall or something.

Mine is getting a new part in the next 2-3 weeks and if it works, I will let you know. Something to do with a Speaker connector or something, I'll post the details when I know. They have already replaced my main radio module, fixed a connector, and replaced an amp twice with no effect so my confidence is not high. They have apparently been taking with GM engineering though

Did you ever get any resolution to this?

I am exactly the same boat for the last 2 years. They have replaced nearly the entire unit by now but I still lose all sound when it gets hot in my 2019 Silverado.
