One lifter turned in the holder at 113,000 miles, and damaged the cam. The oil filter caught the metal. I pulled all of the bearing caps and inspected them, as well as the oil pump and pickup. AMS is telling me that the Pulsar will take care of the issue, Holley tech support (Who makes the Pulsar) tells me that it will not work, and that it only stops the DFM from functioning on a stock engine. It will not stop the oil flow to the lifters from the DFM solenoids. I feel that AMS lacks the knowledge on these systems. When I placed the order through AMS, they called and told me that the block off plugs were not required, and credited me the 40 dollars. They told me that the Pulsar was all I needed. I see that all of the other vendors include block off plugs in their kits.

Help me understand the hydraulic system on this please. If I were to swap out the stock cam and lifters for the LS7 parts, and run the engine without the Pulsar LT installed, would the oil pressure bleed off through the lifters? I put this one together, and above idle, it has 50-55 psi oil pressure. At idle, the pressure bleeds down, and the lifters start talking. Pump pickup is clean, all bearing clearances are perfect. AFM/DOD solenoids and wiring were left intact and connected, as instructed by AMS Racing.
