  1. I just joined the Valve Body Replacement club this past month. 2021 Sliverado 1500, 8 speed transmission. Engine light went on just after Christmas and has been at the Dealer for almost a month. Nothing the dealer can do, other than wait for the parts from Chevrolet. I opened a case pretty quickly with Chevy because it is under warranty and would need a loaner/rental. After 3 weeks they give you to an advisor to help you with the process. Loaner is up to the dealer, and from what i heard they are limited on loaners. My dealer only had a few which were not available at the time. But Chevy will reimburse a portion of the rental car. $44/day but they do not cover taxes/fees. That $44/day is only covering a car and not a comparable Truck. You need to submit all the paperwork after the car is fixed, and then takes 4-6 weeks for reimbursement of rental charges. The Chevy case manager I had escalated to is only able to see when the part ships to the dealer. They said they cannot tell you if the part is in stock, when its in stock or an estimate of when they expect to have the part available. The case manager said they will check back every 4 business days. Being a Supply Chain person myself, it is very frustrating that Chevy cannot provide an estimate on when the parts will become available. Chevy is a big company with a sophisticated supply chain. they know where every part is located, production schedules and demands. They absolutely know when the part is expected to be available. Hope the above is helpful to anyone who is now in the same boat. I'll give an update when my Truck gets fixed.
