  1. I used a Z36 "kit" on my 2013 Avalanche several years ago (before I purchased my baby duramax) and loved it. Significant increase in stopping power and much more confidence while towing.
  2. Boost Auto makes a very quality product but they are expensive. I had a set of their tow mirrors on my 2013 Avalanche and they were fantastic. The only reason I haven't swapped on my 2022 Refresh is the cost. https://boostautoparts.com/products/t1-1500-chevy?options=&year=2023&make=Chevy&model=Silverado 1500 (Refreshed)
  3. I thought I'd pop in here just for future reference as folks come across this thread. My data is related to the LM2. I bought my 22 (refreshed) in June of 2024 and for the first (roughly) six months, I tracked all of my fuel usage - sadly, I didn't with DEF but it's so minimal that it doesn't really matter. The google spreadsheet linked below are the results. The comparison was to real-world mileage of my final-year Chevrolet Avalanche with the 5.3 (I had the "displacement on demand" disabled because it was worthless and annoying). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MKHG6HOO_osUZQHqQQuoGAeSveTb7jN0ePLnCsLUeVk/edit?usp=sharing TL:DR, tracking cost per gallon of regular versus diesel and my driving experiences over that 6 monthly led to a roughly 30% "savings" compared to the 5.3. Obviously the cost of DEF and other factors such as fuel filter replacement would bring this down but those costs are so minimal, I didn't bother to factor them in. I will also note that I am a conservative driver, rarely speed more than a couple MPH over the limit with traffic flow. I don't "hyper mile" but I don't drive my truck like a sports car either. Not sure if anyone cares, just thought I'd drop it here for anyone that happens upon this thread looking for information.
  4. I suppose this is a bit of an olive branch from GM but the underlying purpose of this entire thing (ditching CarPlay/AA) is for GM to monetize in-car services for ongoing, long-term income. Yes, that's business and I understand that in a capitalist world, the purpose of a business is to make money. That being said, I'll have to exercise my capitalist "right" in the future as well. Sadly, after being a life-long GM owner, there won't be another GM purchase for me based solely on the lack of CarPlay/AA support.
  5. Everything else is "remembered" correctly. Radio presets and such are still there (though, I only use CarPlay, the stations on FM that I have saved are still showing. The equalizer screen shows the correct settings (I have bass all the way up, as well as treble, and mid about 2/3 of the way up). These settings are carried over from start to start, however, the actual sound coming out is "flat" until I tap one of the arrows on the equalizer screen, then the audio jumps to it's correct settings. I wish I could narrow it down more to a "truck hasn't run in x minutes or more" but it seems to happen randomly regardless of how long the system was off... it might be fine overnight one day and then not the next. It might be bad after a quick run into the store one day, then not the next time. So it's happening on short and long(er) cycles, randomly.
  6. Two steps forward, one step back. After a couple of weeks of using the new software version installed as part of 24-NA-261, I have come across one bug that's quite annoying. Other than this one thing, all of my other issues are resolved. The equalizer settings are not always "remembered" and applied when I start up the truck. I have not been able to find a common cause as far as timing or state of the vehicle before starting up - ie, it doesn't only happen after the truck has been shut down for a certain amount of time, it's very random. Basically, when the truck starts up, sometimes the audio is "flat" - none of my equalizer settings are applied. If I go into the screen to change them, the sliders are all in the correct position but the audio is still flat. If I tap one of the arrows for bass/mid/treble, the audio jumps up to the correct settings. I did a full system reset thinking that maybe something didn't carry over with the update, reconfigured all my preferences and the issue persists.
  7. I had 24-NA-261 applied to my truck yesterday under my CPO warranty. So far, it seems to be working much better. The biggest issue that appears to be fixed is the GPS accuracy - whether with built-in google maps or CarPlay (apple or google maps), my location would jump around and/or delay in updating. That seems to be fixed with the minimal driving so far. Best part was, all my custom settings were held in-place so I didn't need to re-configure everything. I haven't used much of the audio since the update so I can't say for sure that the issue is resolved as well but I'm cautiously optimistic.
  8. I am in the same boat, my '22 (refresh) is still sitting on Android 10 and I think for my next oil change (complimentary from the dealer), I'm going to request the TSB for the upgrade the 12. I have had random (very sporadic) audio drop outs and supposedly that's something the upgrade affects. I had it in for other updates and service a few months ago and I assumed (poorly) that they would have done this one as well.
  9. I did this with the gen5diy switch as well as added the lights below around the bed... a massive improvement. I mounted the swtich in the hole that passes to the "grab handle" in the top of the bed for a very stock look. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YZFN925
  10. You remove the jack, install the tub, then the jack installs back in place so it's now "inside" the storage tub.
  11. I agree it's a lot for molded plastic but I spent about the same on my off-brand one from Amazon (linked below). It works perfectly and is a great upgrade for interior storage. Installation was very simple and only required a small cut to the factory floor liners I had to sit perfectly (which was noted in the listing so I knew it was happening). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDL45PX8
  12. I first picked up my CPO 2022 (refreshed) about a year ago. Had P1098 pop up once in the fall, cleared it while/after paying close attention to the engine temp (it was fine the whole time). Moved on with my life. Happened again early this year, did the same thing. About 3 weeks ago, it popped, cleared, came up again next start cycle. Did the song and dance for a few days - it always seemed to pop up after a short "off cycle" - as in, filling up with fuel, stopping to grab a drink, etc. It also seemed, other than the one time over the winter, to be on very hot days. All the time, the temp gauge stayed right in the middle where it should be. Received a "reduced acceleration soon" message and that's when I bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. Just short of 31k miles. I was shocked when they said they had the part in stock and would have it done next day. Gave me a loaner (2024 Chevy Equinox, terrible car). All under warranty. I was really impressed they had one in stock as I've seen horror stories of people waiting weeks/months for a replacement. I've had the truck back for about a week and no issues so far. Service manager said they've been trying to keep a couple in stock as they've done several replacements. New part number is 40009179 - I haven't been able to confirm this is an improved design in any way but I'm crossing my fingers.
  13. I think they are standard size click-clips so something like this would allow you to make your own extensions... https://www.amazon.com/BEYOURD-Buckles-Straps-Set-Adjustable/dp/B08LD8CJ8D
  14. I have the same cover, it's a POS that doesn't even fit the bed box correctly, I get leaks at all four corners... if it hadn't come on the truck, when I bought it CPO, I'd have fought tooth an nail for my money back.
  15. I've never understood this - with the exception of a VW Passat (2008), every vehicle I've owned can do down but not up. Makes no sense because it's 100% pure software.
