  1. Details of the buybacks are expected to be released shortly by NHTSA.
  2. The trucks involved were from 2009 to 2011
  3. Here is another reason to really think out your options ! 11:24 a.m. EDT July 23, 2015 GM beats second-quarter forecast on truck, SUV sales !http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/07/23/gm-second-quarter-earnings/30557775/ Take the time and READ the whole article ;)
  4. I love My Ram ! I ended up with a more equipped truck for less money, plus the (Reg Cab) is bigger the dash fits perfectly, No paint issues, more quiet interior. I had a '14 W/T Short Box 4X4 Reg, Cab with the 4.3 V-6 & 6spd Besides the vibration, they never got around to addressing why the engine would increse 300 to 400 rpm's before it would up shift or the LOUD direct injection both deemed " NORMAL " by GM...Go figure ! I have the same set up in my Ram, V-6 but this one has an 8spd auto, I'll admit it took some getting used to but the Ram boy's said have it for a few day's and let us know...Totally shocked but it only took an hour to figure out how it would fit my driving style. I was right up front and honest and NICE with the dealer actually the Service Director ( GSM, SM, and Salesperson ) basically showed me the door to the service dept. I had already installed quite a few 'Hard adds' Wheels on OEM tires, Bug Shield, Tinted Windows, Class III Reciever Hitch & Wiring, Bedliner, Sliding Rear Window, Electronic Brake Controler. When I was asked to produce reciepts to GM I did and after five business day's I heard nothing and had to track down my rep. just to find out after four hours of phone tag he had quit ! So the next person acknowledges that they had the copies I sent and would send out a form stating the final numbers, they then sent out paper work for some dude in Florida on a Cadillac buy back ! So another few day's go by. Then after countless times of reminding GM that they could not find me a truck that my 'Adds' would fit and DID NOT VIBRATE they have to pay for them. After another few day's the Service Director called after speaking to the GM rep and that the dealer would put my wheels on a stock unit to help get the deal done. I've had thirty years of dealership experence (15 with Chevrolet) and traded in a perfectly good '04 K-2500 Ext.Cab with 49k actual miles that I bought new, and the way I was treated by GM I will never buy another GM product again in fact My Cadillac Dealer keeps wanting to trade in my 2011 DTS with 22k on it, But I'll most likely just have him buy it or sell it myself as god forbid I have to deal with GM again. The key is to remember that the dealers hands are basically tied, that is why they have to follow the " GM Procedure " and become parts replacers under GM's careful guidance. The dealer is stuck between the customer and the people that hold his franchise papers. My Service Director knows if he ever leaves this place and goes to any store but a GM I'll be there. Good Luck !
  5. It sincerely hurts me to see so many more new people with the vibration issue Sadly, 97SierraSLT just might be right " I would not put it past GM to closely monitor this 340 page thread and just wait patiently for the loyal GM truck owners to correctly diagnose the root causes(s) of these vibration issues themselves " Since the fall of 2013 GM has skated by on this and what's to stop them ? @ 75mph I considered mine a Safety Issue, Yes it was that bad shorty after I made that statement the procedure except for the actual check went a bit quicker.
  6. With stories like this, the likelyhood of GM ever addressing the vibration issues will never happen http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/07/05/2015-chevy-silverado-truck-hauling-more-profit.aspx?source=eogyholnk0000001
  7. Welcome to the forum jpcons, Yes it's a very sad deal, GM is selling so many that they have the attitude that until it hits national headlines they will not focus on the actual issues and keep putting band aids on it. I had a '14 W/T brought it in with a bit over 300 miles GM put over a 1000 miles on it and had to take it back. four sets of different tires two different sets of rims, Ring & Pinion, Rear Differental, body mount deal and up until they put the check in my hand it was deemed ' Normal Opperation '
  8. Thanks for sharing Stevev
  9. Welcome to the forum Arun9lude, Start by making an appointemnt at your dealer for your concerns, Check your states laws on Lemon Laws, Buy Backs and the BBB site. In most cases the dealer has four attempts to correct the issue. Keep track of your mileage The dealer/GM put over a 1000 miles on mine and never corrected the vibration issue. also keep notes on dates and times along with the people you talk to and their position, most of all be nice it really helped in my case. Sadly, GM has been aware of this since 2013 and with the record sales they are having it is not in GM best interest to solve this anytime soon as their record speaks for it's self.
  10. BINGO ! Every person at the dealership level was VERY careful on what AND how they addressed this
  11. Your right it never pay's to be rude ! In fact if not for my dealer's Service Manager GM would still be trying to figure this out I always had my note pad and remembered there is a reason I have two ears and one mouth. I never met anyone from GM in person and was not allowed to talk to the GM engineer when he was evaluating my truck in fact there was only once I talked to the same person from GM twice giving me the impression that they thought I'd get tired and give up...WRONG ! 12. Great Post ! I also STRONGLY suggest to keep a log of every conversation with dates and times along with the names of the contacts.
  13. This is where I really got shafted was the ' ADDS ' even after I gave them six weeks and drove seven Silverado's all that vibrated, they could not produce a half ton with out this issue. I have other cars, what I needed was a truck that preformed with out having to fight with GM who always seemed to have that Deer in the headlight look and attitude. They will want all of the original receipts, and they in some cases screw with the labor and tax's also keep an eye on how they present the final numbers, they tried to pass one number on me then it took an addition week for them to get a brake down. also tax's and plates should be included in this. Also make sure that there is a notary at the dealership if you ever get to this point and have them make double copies of everything for you including all service records on your truck.
  14. So sorry to read this I do feel your pain, I worked for Chevrolet for 20yrs and they treated me like dirt. I have one GM vehicle left, and if I did not enjoy it so much it would be history
  15. TOTALLY UNREAL Just an FYI, Keep all of your paper work in order, if anyone makes any statements record what was said along with the date and time ! It would be interesting to see the paper work flow and just why and who OK'd this massive job, had you noticed any engine related problems ? I had issues with a noisy engine @ idle GM deemed it ' Normal ' also my RPM's would go up 300 before it would shift into a higher gear, again ' Normal ' from the GM guru's I'll assume that my constant questioning every step may led them to believe if they ever fixed the vibration the engine and transmission issues were next to be dealt with Good Luck !
  16. Oh there is more then just tire issues down the pipe on this ! It seems like everyday more and more people are becoming aware of this, but GM A buddy that works for a non GM dealer will not take any '14 & '15 half ton GM trucks on trade as they are concerned about not only safety issues but keeping customers plus they can not afford the time in service to chase down a design flaw.
  17. So who's been lucky enough to receive the ' Premiere ' Issue of New Roads from Chevrolet ? After all the hoops & circles, the Dog & Pony show GM put me through and loosing a few bucks on the ' Buy Back ' almost three months later they keep sending me crap plus now this...No it's Nothing like the Friends from back in the day. Customer Relations IS EARNED not bought with propaganda and until GM figures this out, it's all down hill from here !
  18. The BBB process will only become longer as many owners realize it's the only way to get GM to address this vibration issue. As soon as I filed my BBB complaint GM Customer Service had nothing to do with me, then another person stepped in as a go between for the district rep who in my case had the magic wand but still drug his feet.
  19. It's so sad to see more and more trucks being added to the list Just think of the people who have not taken the time to search this issue out, like I did until the service manager stated " Don't believe everything you read on the internet " I was a member here long before this issue came up on the '14 Silverado. and the best information I received was from this very site ! I strongly can not stress how very important it is to have a semi calm attitude with your dealer, it was his persistence with GM that kept my name on the top of GM's list and my nice but constant calling GM customer service to make them aware I was in no way accept anything less then what was fair, my case took a bit longer because of the items I added, and I gave GM six weeks to produce a truck that did not vibrate or delay on the up shifts or have excessive injector noise. It was a sad day for me when I finally realized that GM had no interest in keeping me a GM customer. and I've moved on and I'm glad that I've been able to help quite a few people with this issue. This vibration issue is snow balling at a very extreme rate, and I see nothing good coming from it until GM acknowledges their engineering mistake and takes care of it's customers in the same good faith that people purchased the trucks to begin with. All in all, ' What goes around will come around ' it's just a matter of time !
  20. I'd strongly suggest a BBB complaint ; http://www.bbb.org/council/programs-services/dispute-handling-and-resolution/bbb-auto-line GM customer service will give you nothing but the run around, I never was given the opportunity to talk to the District Rep. who made the final call, so I had to deal with the C/S person who could not even comment on exact and directed questions and it was day's before I'd get an answer back in the three way cluster ! and don't even get me started about the engineer ordeal ! GM is running so fast to cover up something that they have been fully aware of since 08/2013 and I'm sure well before that, they are the post child of disorganization they even sent me the final paper work to a Cadillac buy back in Florida instead of mine ! And to add more insult, I just read on this very site that there are now transmission issues on the 8spd, I had the 6sp in mine and that it rose 200 to 300 rpms on the up shift and was deemed as " Normal Operation" Save all your paperwork, Take names and numbers of EVERYONE you talk to from GM & dealerships and note the dates & times as well ! 21. That has to be the craziest thing I've seen I don't see how that could be in spec's, but then again the wizard ( GM engineer ) thought that if they loosened all the body mounts and re torque them that would make the vibration between 62 & 75 disappear
  22. Send it to the auction, I gave them six weeks to find a Silverado that does not vibrate and they couldn't so they bought it back.
  23. They attempted this on mine and it also included the box as well...Nothing Changed !
