My gut tells me there's a link between GM eradicating the ability to option their Cold Air Intake or even finding any mention of their optional Cold Air Intake and the rash of lifter issues. They announced that it was no longer an option with no reason. No mention of supply issues. They just made it disappear. I think they're engineers were investigating engine failures and found something at least causal.
