  1. I have read a few articles about valve spring failure and lifter collapse, but I'm certain that can happen at any point. I have had my RST over a year now with zero issues. I figure they dyno them to 575-600 wheeled hp is the reason for the upgrades. From the sounds of it, I would be okay with the canned tune.
  2. They said that the pistons are cast and proned to failure on these new 6.2s in our trucks when boosted. The lifters, springs and rods have been proned to failure in stock form and added HP and pressures only increase the chances. They actually warranty the motor for 36k miles. The end result according to them after the dyno tuning would be 575-600 rwh.
  3. Following. Looking at doing the 3.0 Whipple on mine. My Chevy dealer has a performance shop as well and they said the only way they would do it safely and warranty the motor is also replace the pistons with forged and redo the heads springs, lifters and pushrods.
  4. Looking to purchase an extra ECM for my 2020 with the 6.2. Any ideas where I can find one. Thinking of getting the superchips programmer and don't really want to send my ECM in hand if something goes wrong I can plug in my locked ecm.
  5. I did not have to have it flashed and seemed to wake it up. The GM package is overrated, overpriced and the so called flash makes no noticeable difference. When I inquired about it at the dealerships performance shop, they are the ones who told me to go aftermarket that the GM CAI and exhaust (made by Borla) was okay but better options.
  6. I'm partial, but I would go with the Borla S-Type over Corsa and Borla actually builds the GM exhaust. Its pretty much Borlas touring exhaust. My Borla and CAI installed was $1500. Expect to pay over $2000 for the others.
  7. It will cost depending on installer somewhere between $1200-1600.
  8. The truck had cloth that I was happy with and had no intentions in getting leather until I seen one similar to this that another truck had. AC Sport here in Arkansas does just about all trucks for dealers. The leather is Katzkin leather out of California. They removed the factory cloth and installed these to include the console lid. Thanks for the compliment.
  9. Added some leather, grill lights and painted bow tie.
  10. I actually have the Cold Air Induction brand. Very well made but hard to tell if it made any difference. I did the Borla Stype and intake at the same time.
  11. Does anyone know the factory 20" wheel offset?
  12. These are what I was thinking about. The bumper is black so should work well. I see they are 1/4 inch. Do you know what size the rivets are that i will be drilling out?
  13. Bought a new RST several weeks ago and my dealer had to have the truck brought in from another state. Well it has the front license plate bracket installed that I do not want on the truck since its not required. Is there anyone that has removed theirs and put plastic body plugs in holes? Just trying to figure out how to remove it and not have the ugly holes.
  14. Well I keep hearing about reflashing the ECM when using the GM CAI. Is it really necessary and did you notice a difference after reflash? Reason I'm asking, I bought a 2020 RST with the 6.2 a couple weeks ago and installed the Borla S-Type system and Cold Air Inductions CAI. No issues with codes or anything but I keep hearing that without the flash I'm not getting the full experience.
  15. Coming out of a 2006 tuned Duramax my 2020 felt very sluggish to me on the throttle response. So I decided after researching to get one and try it out. Actually it's pretty impressive how it works in it's simplicity. It doesn't add power or change anything other than the signal from the gas pedal to TB. I'm pleased with it and it feels much sportier on the pedal.
  16. WOW, hope they get it squared away. I don't have nor have I plugged anything in the obd. Went down that road in another truck. The pedal commander I put in plugs in the pedal electronic sensor at the pedal to give it a better throttle response. Works like a champ! Good luck and hope they get you rolling soon.
  17. Ouch, sorry to hear this! With a 100 miles on my 2020 RST 6.2, I installed the Cold Air Induction cai, Borla S-Type system and pedal commander with no issues (so far). Very pleased with the truck now. My question though, did you have issues from day one or was it something that happened after a while? Makes me nervous that I may start having issues now. I only have put 323 miles on it since I got it little over 2 weeks ago.
