  1. Mine is milky in winter, even after a 400 mile trip hauling 6k lbs.. Happens in the cold.
  2. Well, that explains the striking similarities. I didn't know that. Interesting. Never know who makes what these days!
  3. The ones I pulled out were AC Delco. I was friggin' amazed they actually used anti-seize compound on the threads. Miracles never cease!
  4. LOL - I wasn't sure if I misunderstood what you meant. Been a long day ...
  5. I've always used NGK plugs in motorcycles, and just started using them in cars/trucks about 9 years ago. The NGK Iridiums I installed in the Silverado a couple years back looked identical in every way to what was in there from the factory, aside from the print on the porcelain. I can't see these tiny little wires going bad any time soon, so I'll run those until the light comes on.
  6. Can get a set of Densos on there for about $40. Delcos are almost $12 each.
  7. That's the 21st century for ya! Amazing how far we've fallen in 110 years.
  8. I was too - and they still all came off in my hand, right at the hinge. Damn things should be .50 cents each - about what they're worth if they haven't improved them at all since '07.
  9. That was the first thing to break on my Silverado with less than 1,000 miles on the clock, in the second week of ownership. The rest broke one by one not long after. Cheap PiecesOS. Never seen such a flimsy piece in my life. Hope they fixed that problem by now.
  10. I hear that. We started out in the 30's, and it's now close to 60° here too. Raining, but better than snow!
  11. Yeah my '78 Cutlass was like that, and so was my '72 El Camino, until I bought copper gaskets for it. Never blew one out after that. Also had good luck with "Premium" level gaskets from a popular brand that I can't remember now ... maybe Mr. Gasket? I remember they were black gaskets with lettering on them, while the cheap ones were light colored, and seemed to blow every 5k miles.
  12. Ceramic coated too. Nice! Been wanting to throw a set on the Silverado, but my mental wallet is still in the early 90's. I just can't get past paying more than $250 for a pair of headers. Oh well ...
  13. About the same as Worcester County in central MA. Goes up a bit the farther west you go.
  14. Wow, that must've been total mayhem! Never thought that amount has ever come down in CA below 5k feet.
  15. Yeah, but rain means it's WARM. I'll take heat any day of the week over cold. 44° is much better than 14°. Wish I was born in the Keys ...
  16. Just be glad your not getting snowed on like the guys in VA, & surrounding areas. We've got nothing on the ground, and they got 30"! Unheard of around here. Usually if they get hit, we get hit 10x worse. I haven't even started my snowblower yet this year. No complaints from me!
  17. Strange - it's like CA and MA swapped weather! We hit 51° today. I was in a tee-shirt! Saying close to 60 tomorrow. No snow - I'll take it! You guys are getting hammered out there. Right from a drought, into a flood.
  18. Ahh, gotcha. I still run a flip-phone, so this is all foreign to me. I have no need or desire for any of it. Got enough monthly bills here ...
  19. Radios connect to the internet now? WTF ...
  20. Got a manilla folder for every vehicle I own, including motorcycles, dirt bikes, and the ATV. The car ones are at the bottom. You can see my '74 RD350 folder labeled on the left - it's thick because I did a frame-up restoration on it. The 2 super-thick & worn out ones in the middle are the '89 S10 Blazer I just sold, and my '07 Silverado. Sad how the '07 is one of the thickest ones there .. and it's the newest vehicle I own, with the least miles. Hmmmm ... Next to the Silverado all the way to the right is the file for our '86 Grand Marquis - owned for 13 years, 3 decades old, with 4x the miles on it, and the folder is HALF as thick. Goes to show ya something there ... On top all the way to the left (next to filing cabinet) is the folder for our '93 Volvo 940, also extremely thin. Needed a bit of work to get it road-worthy too. The folder next to that is for equipment I repaired, but don't own, so it doesn't count. File thickness tells the tale ...
  21. I miss that area BADLY.
  22. I haven't seen 60° in 2 months .... Oh ... except when I drove to Florida.
  23. That's probably the hottest part of the engine compartment too - up high and towards the firewall. I checked mine after a long highway run towing a car to FL. Somewhere in AL in the 80's outside - underhood temps were HOT. Don't know exactly, but guessing well north of 150°, for sure. Can was ambient to the touch.
