  1. I put mine there mainly because I figure the longer the length the oil mist has to travel, the less likely it is to end up in the intake. I can deal with frequent emptying for 4 months a year. Good part about having the glass can on the Conceptual Polymer unit is being able to see when it's time to empty it. I don't drive the truck much, so I could go 2 months before dumping it. Either way, I believe the condensation is a result of a cold engine block, so locating the catch can even 1" from the exhaust manifold won't make a difference, aside from maybe introducing some steam into the intake.
  2. Yep - that time of year again:
  3. I might have them do a tune on my truck next spring too. Mainly just to get rid of the spark knock at full throttle, or heavy loads. Can get a dual-tune I guess - one for towing, one for racing around town. You sure pay for good results though. I bet just a tune on the dyno will approach $1k ...
  4. My buddy is bringing his SS down to Jannetty Racing in the spring for a supercharger install (85 lb. injectors, dual fuel pumps, tune, etc.). Already has a performance cam, headers & full exhaust, lower gears out back, and a few other goodies ... Thing will be around 700 HP, at the rear wheels. Can't wait to ride in it!
  5. Yep - that time 'o year unfortunately. Better than having it rust out in 5 years!
  6. HAHAHA! Yeah I remember that every winter. Used to see them upside-down at every intersection across the valley ...
  7. Good thing you don't have to deal with snow down there! You'd be in the woods the first mile (and you don't have woods to deal with out there either - another bonus! ).
  8. You can weld with an alternator in a pinch.
  9. None of these new ones will run on just the alternator - disconnecting the ground just shuts the computer down, and the engine with it. Don't get into a habit of doing that - some of these computers are pretty delicate (and very EXPENSIVE). Doesn't take much to spike one.
  10. That company has come a long way! My buddy had bought a brand new Hyundai sedan for his girlfriend. When I saw the front end in the garage, I thought he bought her a Jag! REAL nice looking car. Interior was impressive too. Looked like a $70k Caddie in there. Don't ask me what model it was - no clue.
  11. Not a bad looker. Good to see styling is fairly good across the board these days. The 80's and 90's, and most of the '00's were terrible. My mom's '07 Civic is the dumbest looking thing I've ever seen. The dashboard is literally 3' DEEP in there. Rides like crap too - you feel (and hear) every pebble in the road. Econobox central ...
  12. Getting better reliability too getting away from GM - that's always a big selling point!
  13. Plugged in my scan tool to see if anything was out of the ordinary with my truck. I do it from time to time, so I'm not surprised by a check engine light. Can't read codes, and won't download the PID list. WTF!!! Always something with this friggin thing. Glad there's no drivability issues for the moment ... Unreal ...
  14. Nice! Got your money's worth out of that set, that's for sure! I had a set of Blackwaters on my '86 TRX250R. Even with that thing spinning in every gear, I got a few hard years out of them, and they were still good when I sold the thing. That was my first ITP purchase.
  15. Good deal! Yeah I've seen the reviews, but I've been an ITP guy for over 20 years. Never had a complaint with any one of them. I don't get out there as much as I should anymore though. Most of the miles on this thing lately are around the yard winching leaning trees down, jockeying trailers, transportation to the neighbor's houses, & plowing snow. Lot less plowing since I got that '94 S10 though. I haven't even put the plow on it so far.
  16. I threw a new set of meats on mine a couple years ago. Things are great in the mud and snow. Radials too. ITP Mud Lite XTR's. Made the mistake of buying some wheel spacers off eBay - friggin front end will shake you off the machine over 40. More money I need to spend to fix that issue.
  17. Nice - could fit 2 compact cars in there!
  18. Way outta my league - I have no idea what any of that is. I know Android is a phone, so I'm assuming that all connects, like Ford's system (forget the name ... "Synch"?), where you can play all the phone's music on the radio. I have no use for any of that.
  19. Didn't even know such a thing existed! '07 is about as close to new as I'll ever get going forward. Sounds like that was designed for MA highways - nothing but bumper-to-bumper speed-up, slow-down traffic ... constantly.
  20. Well, these days any one of the big 3 is just as likely to be towed, unfortunately. Great drivelines, crap electronics. Was just because it wasn't registered .. and had no brakes. It ran and drove though.
  21. Wouldn't shock me one bit if MA decides to jam that one down our throats soon ...
  22. Wow that thing is a monster! What's the length on that? Gotta be 30' minimum, I'm guessing. I just realized that bucket truck I hauled last week is a F-Super Duty, and not a F-350. The GVWR is 15k - guess the truck weighed a bit more than I thought ... Wow $2.18 for diesel. Nice being nowhere near New England!
  23. Progressive politicians for ya - it's NEVER enough, it will never be enough.
  24. Probably all your federal, provincial, & local taxes all piled up on one another.
