I know you all will love this one!
I recently moved...in August from GA to NC, just outside Charlotte.
Had to drag the 'ol Ford "race car" up here too haha.
It's my brother's Cobra, but inherently; I do a lot of the work on it because I have all the tools and know-how
It's a 96 with a kenne bell supercharger on it. Dyno'd at 373hp/353tq at 8 lbs of boost and methanol. Of course, that was a hot summer day and heat soaked.
However, back on track. I towed it some 250 miles. We dropped the tranny for the 3rd time last week. Meaning we had a drop, install, drop, install, and now drop...with another install pending
Long story, probably belongs in another thread and topic.
When I worked for Honda I loved to tell my ricer co-workers that I had a car with more supercharger displacement than their engine!
At least we can all say we love V8 engines here
I wish I had taken a better picture for you all. Let me explain: I had the Cobra (~3200lbs) and the car was packed with things (tv's small furniture, etc ~500lbs) I had a couch, microwave, table, etc in the back of my truck (~500lbs) and the inside of my truck, what little cab room there is, was packed with another (~700lbs) of miscellaneous things. Including my good self, free weights, bar bell and dumb bells...and strangely enough my boulder collection (talk about dead weight!)
Not including the car dolly itself, I had to move that sucker to get it lined up! I think I can be safe in estimating that the dolly is somewhere around (800-1000lbs)
So all told, I had around 5700lbs; and that is a very, very conservative number, added to my already 4500lb truck. Towing went smoothly, had a few "Oh crap!" moments when passing the semi's
Kept her in tow/haul and she only downshifted when going up hills. There are a lot of hills up 85N between Atlanta and Charlotte!
I was going 75 mph the whole trip. Around 2,000 rpms when cruising and pushed/downshifted to around 3,000 rpms for the hills.
I am proud to say, this was my first major haul. I had to buy a receiver/hitch and bolt it on. I also put in a 4-pin harness on my last day at work while I had access to my lift.
Keep up the good towing everyone, gotta represent all us '99 and up body styles too ya know
1500, 5.3 power all the way
