  1. Sorry I haven't made more progress posts, but between all the quarantine honey dos and working on the truck too, I've been beat at the end of the day. Good news though, install is done! Had a little issue (completely my fault) and had to pull the oil pan again. Basically I got in a rush when installing the oil pan the first time and didn't give the rtv enough time to set up before tightening all the bolts. So I had to do that part all over again. Such a pain in the ass. But got it sorted and everything is working great now. Since the base tune has the truck running pretty rich, she's just gonna sit until the tuner can fit me in. Can't wait to get the tune sorted and go take a rip! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  2. Here you go. I still have some more re routing and such to do with the coolant lines and harness, but the headers are on! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  3. Well, yesterday I got the fuel system and the oil pan done, no pictures because there's really nothing exciting to show right now. Headed back to work today, so progress is gonna be slow for a bit. I'm only gonna be able to put in an hour or two here and there, but I have a couple weeks vacation in April, so I'll get back on the grind and knock the rest of the install out then for sure. For the record, the oil pan can be removed from a 4x4 truck without pulling the engine, but dang, it is a real pain in the ass. It might be easier to just pull the engine if you can lol. 4. It's definitely a lot of work, paying someone else for the labor would be pricey. If you have a little diy skill and can follow directions, I think it's doable by anyone. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  5. The kit comes with weld on bungs and measurements on where to drill the holes and what size drill bit to use. I had Armageddon prepare a seperate oil pan, because they have good welders and it's quick and easy for them to pop a couple holes and weld them on. I just have to swap the pans and send my original pan back. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  6. I will make sure and take a pic or two when I get the headers mounted, but as a little teaser, here's a pic from before the ceramic coating. This is the driver's side header. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks, I can't wait to finish the install and get the truck tuned so I can go play! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  8. I'm not gonna lie it's a first for me too, but Armageddon has really nice instructions with tons of pictures, so anyone handy with a wrench "should" be able to handle it. Though I'm not gonna lie, it does seem a bit overwhelming having it torn down this far. The upper fuse box is currently removed, as is the ecu, and the lower portion of the box is just sitting loose. I think it's basically just rerouting and repositioning some harness sections (part of the engine harness was routed under the fuse box) and maybe some of the hardware also to make room for the new headers and turbos. 9. The turbo kit itself will easily support 1500 hp, and later down the road I'm going to build an engine among other upgrades, and be shooting for something in the 1200ish range. Since I currently have a stock 5.3, I'm gonna be shooting for 550ish at the wheels. The engine will be able to live a long healthy life, and my current single 3" exhaust will start to become more restrictive if I go much past that. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  10. Got a lot of the teardown done. It's looking a little scary at this point, but can't make an omelet without breaking a couple eggs. The goal for tomorrow is to get at least the fuel system done and the oil pan swapped out. The fuel system is getting upgraded to the lt4 injectors and pump, and I have an oil pan with an bungs for the turbo oil return lines. Anything else that gets done tomorrow is just icing on the cake. 11. And now that brings us to today, finally getting around to starting the install of the turbos. I had the hot and cold side ceramic coated, as well as both the compressor and turbine housings, and was gonna wait for some vacation time I have scheduled in April, but with all this quarantine nonsense, I'm not traveling to my dad's house for the install. And what the hell, nows as good a time as any to get started. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  12. Fast forward a little while and I spent a little time on the couch after dropping a little more than I should have on an Armageddon twin turbo kit. It's a comfy couch though, totally worth it lol. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  13. A couple other minor things I changed were the back lit black bowtie in the grille and a black bowtie on the tailgate, an always on foglight harness, and an hmi upgrade to the 2.5 version so I now have android auto, apple carplay, and a backup camera. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  14. It didn't take long, and I had a set of new wheels, and did a little suspension work. The wheels are mrr t228's in 22x10, and the truck now sits at a 4/6 drop using Mcgaughys 2" spindles and 2" springs on stock struts up front, and an adjustable axle flip in the rear. 15. I guess it's about time to finally get a build thread started. I bought Kaylee in 2017 with just 8k miles on the clock. It was a fun road trip to PA to pick her up. Timing could've been better though, because when we woke up the next morning, the pretty sunny weather had changed to snow. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  16. Any chance they'd let you mount a spare up to see how it fits? That 2nd one actually looks pretty good! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  17. As a general rule, any kind of corporate tire shop like discount tire, Firestone, etc is gonna follow the recommended specs for liability reasons, but most mom and pop shops will mount up just about anything you want. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  18. 100% can confirm. That's what I've got on a 4/6 and I do rub in turns and on top on big bumps. When turning it only rubs the liner, so not a big deal, but I need to stiffen up the front so I don't rub on bumps so much. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  19. I will tell you that I already rub on the fender liner during turns on 22s, which would get worse on 24s unless you go with a narrower combo. I also rub on the top of the inner fender on large highway bumps. Again, larger wheel/ tire will make it worse. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  20. Here's a 4/6 with 22s and 305 45s. Close enough to maybe give you some idea Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  21. I'm at 4/6 on my 2016 reg cab, no notch needed. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  22. Wams has all of the part number info on their website. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  23. You could find a breather filter and put that in place of the return line, or switch to a vented catch can like the moroso version. I'd be curious how much vacuum that line holds while connected to the pcv system still. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  24. Heres a post from a guy who switched to intake vacuum https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/230820-how-to-delete-brake-vacuum-pump-video/&share_tid=230820&share_fid=33003&share_type=t&link_source=app Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  25. Just tap into the pcv line on the side of the intake, easy place to tap into then just run a vented catch can out of the valley. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
