  1. $800 is a bit low for a hard cover, but these will be close: Undercover Flex Undercover Classic Undercover SE Bakflip G2 Bakflip Fibermax Extang Solid Fold Truck Gear by LINE-X Hard Folding Cover (same as a Baflip Fibermax, but has a lifetime warranty).
  2. Most people do not use the RollNLock N/T kit, but it is optional.
  3. OK, I understand your concern now. The cover does not have exposed cables, they are inside some housing. It would be extremely difficult to get a hanger in there at the correct position. What I meant by "no cords" is that there is no cord to pull to release the lock as in a Bakflip.
  4. I'm not sure what you mean by "the cord" on the G4. The G4 doesn't have a cord to pull. Both the front and rear panels have locks that have to be engaged, but there's no cord. The cover uses metal "piano" type hinges which is rather old technology. I'm not saying that's bad, it's just old and no other cover that I know of still uses them. The RollNLock is good, but is a bit picky on position due to the four locking points. If the cover gets out of position, the cover won't lock correctly. The Diamondback has a very unsophisticated locking mechanism. A rod that has a vinyl covering at the end of the rod slides underneath your bed's rail. Nothing protects the rail except for the vinyl on the rod and there will be friction on both the vinyl and the rail.
  5. If security is a main concern, I think RollNLock is the best cover. It has a four-point lock which includes both sides of the cover into the rails a well as two lock points into the tailgate.
  6. According to Retax's application guide, the Retrax for the 2013 will NOT fit the 2015.
  7. I don't care for Diamondback covers. The locking mechanism is very...rudimentary and I don't know who made their key locks for them, but it was common for them to break. I bet Diamondback had to replace 99% of them,
  8. Both the Roll-N-Lock M-Series and A-Series are good covers, but the new A-Series is more of a "Beast" than the M-Series.
  9. The Access Lorado and the Access Vanish have the same tension control which is the "XT-Dial" tension adjuster.
  10. He's referring to the Fold-A-Cover. The G4 model is the one to consider, not the LS model.
  11. TrailFX is a "house brand" for Keystone Automotive which is a very large accessory wholesaler. I believe that most (if not all) of the TrailFX products are rebranded. You will need to find a retail accessory dealer that can buy from Keystone.
  12. The Retrax covers can be ordered with the stake pockets cut out of the rails. It's the only cover brand on the market that I know that will do that. The Undercover Flex is similar to the Bakflips, but it stands vertically instead of leaning against the cab.
  13. The Truck Gear by LINE-X hard folding cover is a Bakflip Fibermax except it has integrated straps (like the Undercover Flex) and I believe you get a lifetime warranty. Link: http://truckgear.com/ Then search for part number TG95120 (for a 2015 Chevy)
  14. Open the tailgate, close and clamp the cover to the rails. Lay down in the bed of the truck, push up on the cover and snap a picture of the rear clamps. If the clamps have springs, you won't be able to lift the cover.
  15. I would say it's installed incorrectly or it's somehow defective. If were installed correctly, there's no way you could do that. You could not even lift it ONE inch.
  16. $250 is pretty cheap! I prefer latches on the Trifecta over the American Tonneau, but the Trifecta costs more.
  17. The G4 is also unique, two of the three panels have key locks. The construction is a bit dated, it has metal "piano hinges". I'm not saying that's bad, it's just dated.
  18. The Encore is a unique design. The only thing I don't care for is the rather large water channels along the two rails which you don't see very well in the video.
  19. I would say the the RollNLock is the most secure cover on the market, especially the new A-Series cover. It's a retractable cover that has a tailgate hardware piece, it's the only retractable cover on the market with a tailgate piece. The cover locks into the tailgate as well as both sides of the truck (that's FOUR locking points). I've personally seen a RollNLock that someone tried to break into. They messed up the cover, but they did not break it open, I was impressed. No, I do not work for RollNLock.
  20. The black Raptors are black powder coat on mild steel. If the powder chips, they can rust. The warranty is 10 years which is pretty darn good for black power coated mild steel. The polished stainless steel steps are less likely to rust, the warranty is lifetime.
  21. You won't get any security with those covers. They are made of vinyl and can easily be cut open with a knife.
  22. Not exactly. Both covers are owned by Bak. The Revolver is actually the second generation Roll-X. There are a few design changes. Currently, both covers are available, but I'm guessing that the Roll-X will be phased out once inventory levels drop.
  23. I'd say that either something was wrong with your cover or you didn't install it correctly. You do not have to have a drop-in bedliner with a Bakflip and it also should not leak if you don't have a drop-in bedliner. The cover should fit properly either way. Some drop-ins interfere with the clamps and you have to cut part of the drop-in. If you have a drop-in that is an "over the rails" drop-in, then the cover will not work at all. The Bakflips do not have a non-latching panel, all panels have latches. Again, something wrong with your cover?
  24. The new Amp Reseach PowerStep XL steps have an additional 3-inch drop over the original PowerStep.
  25. If you want a TCUSA cover, go buy the "Truck Gear by LINE-X Retractable Cover" from a LINE-X dealer. It's the same exact cover and price, but you get a lifetime warranty instead of a 2-year warranty.
