Hello all. I have a 2013 silverado w/5.3l flex vin 7. Basically has rough idle in park and drive. Very poor acceleration. Almost seems to bog down when trying to accelerate. It will occasionally surge and for just a split second I can feel a bit of power. Also doesn't want to downshift when I lean on the gas pretty heavy. I've got to do near floor it to get it to down ****** and when it does it will drop down 2 gears a lot of the time. No engine light and it won't set any codes. Showed 0 misfires on all cylinders. Long Fuel trims usually in single digits negs. Fuel pressure 43-46psi at idle and highway. I've replaced throttle position sensor, Accelerator pedal position sensor, manifold pressure sensor, mass air sensor, plugs, coolant temp sensor, oxygen sensors. Fuel pump, intake manifold gaskets twice (now with "updated" steel gaskets), throttle body gasket/seal, injector o-rings (upper and lower). Tested all coils for strong spark. Smoke tested for vac leaks along with propane. It has never failed to start or even had a long start and has never died/stalled. I'm just kinda at a loss at this point. Any help will be appreciated and possibly considered. Thanks

Installing DSX TUNING Flex Fuel Kit
Erny415 posted a topic in 2014-2019 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
Hey guys, so I bought the dsx flex fuel kit so I can run E, but I CAN NOT find a single thread or video on how to install it, I usually don't do major work on my vehicles so maybe this will be too much for me and I can take it to a shop. But can someone who has done it try to explain? Pics as well please. I' m sure i'm not the only one who is having a hard time finding instructions on this. TIA!!!! -

Using premium fuel in a vehicle designed for regular fuel is often referred to as a waste of money and no benefit to performance. I believe the Ecotec with flex fuel engine's performance improves with higher octane gasoline. General motors posts different horsepower ratings for a vehicle using regular fuel (87 Octane) and one using E85 (100 Octane). It is logical that octane ratings of 89, 91,and 94 would come in between these two. Currently I am using Shell 89 octane gasoline and see consistently favourable MPG over the Shell 87 Octane I was previously using. My manual says to use 87 or higher. Please let me know if my logic is correct or how it is flawed.

Found this online when researching to convert my 02 Silverado over to E85. It is a little dated since it was published in 2011 but explains a good bit in detail. http://www.liquidsunenergy.com/learning/ppt/ice.pdf This is pretty interesting to see. This individual ran E85 almost 100 % in his Camaro with 250 quarter mile passes. This thing is clean inside. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143372&highlight=e85+wear+eric

I am curious to know if there would be any benefit to using E85, E70 I guess in winter, instead of using the winter blend 87 octane? I know I get poor gas mileage in the winter on my 5.3 simply because of the way they are set up and the winter blend of gas. But would it be of any benefit for me to use E85/E70? I am not sure if would be even worse or if it would be the same or better. Thoughts or opinions? I am sure a lot of this is hypothetical until I try it on my pickup but it might be worth a shot to see what happens. I live in Michigan, grand rapids area, where it has been between 32 F and 8 F lately if that helps at all. Its an 06 silverado 5.3l Flex Fuel Crew Cab with stock winter wheels.
