  1. Hey guys, so I bought the dsx flex fuel kit so I can run E, but I CAN NOT find a single thread or video on how to install it, I usually don't do major work on my vehicles so maybe this will be too much for me and I can take it to a shop. But can someone who has done it try to explain? Pics as well please. I' m sure i'm not the only one who is having a hard time finding instructions on this. TIA!!!!
  2. Going to be trading my pickup in so I stripped off all the aftermarket stuff. Everything came off a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 6.2L High Country crew cab short box Kooks 1 7/8" long tube headers with a Kooks cat-less y-pipe, Cometic header gaskets, Stage 8 locking header bolts, Stage 8 locking y-pipe bolts, and will include 7 new plug wires $1100 + shipping Corsa exhaust with a Flowmaster super series muffler (removed the sport muffler and installed the Flowmaster, did not cut or weld any part of the Corsa system) $900 + shipping Airaid MI
  3. Using premium fuel in a vehicle designed for regular fuel is often referred to as a waste of money and no benefit to performance. I believe the Ecotec with flex fuel engine's performance improves with higher octane gasoline. General motors posts different horsepower ratings for a vehicle using regular fuel (87 Octane) and one using E85 (100 Octane). It is logical that octane ratings of 89, 91,and 94 would come in between these two. Currently I am using Shell 89 octane gasoline and see consistently favourable MPG over the Shell 87 Octane I was previously using. My manual says to use 87
  4. Found this online when researching to convert my 02 Silverado over to E85. It is a little dated since it was published in 2011 but explains a good bit in detail. http://www.liquidsunenergy.com/learning/ppt/ice.pdf This is pretty interesting to see. This individual ran E85 almost 100 % in his Camaro with 250 quarter mile passes. This thing is clean inside. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143372&highlight=e85+wear+eric
  5. I am curious to know if there would be any benefit to using E85, E70 I guess in winter, instead of using the winter blend 87 octane? I know I get poor gas mileage in the winter on my 5.3 simply because of the way they are set up and the winter blend of gas. But would it be of any benefit for me to use E85/E70? I am not sure if would be even worse or if it would be the same or better. Thoughts or opinions? I am sure a lot of this is hypothetical until I try it on my pickup but it might be worth a shot to see what happens. I live in Michigan, grand rapids area, where it has been betwe
