Hi just wondering if anyone would be able to help. My truck makes this rattling noice when being accelerated. When it started it wasn't that bad but has progressively got worse. It's worse when it's cold then goes away for the most part once the engine is warmed up. Sounds like it's coming from the front end. Thank you! 20220307_163644.mp4

2019 GMC Canyon all terrain bought in July 2019 with 12000km on it has clicking noise in drivers side between doors around seat belt adjuster (B- pillar area). Had the truck to two separate dealerships 7 times altogether with no success after the dealer trying different things including: 1.Replaced rear side door arm rest cover trim 2.Center pillar upper trim panel replaced 3.Replaced clips in door 4.Replaced power door lock actuator (which was very loose according to them) 5.Replaced all door weather striping. Not something you would expect from a new truck. Any ideas what this could be?

Hi, I’ve got a Silverado 2016 Z71 4x4 with the 5.3L. When I take my truck to work in the morning (cold start) and make a left out of my neighborhood, my truck makes a grinding noise as I accelerate during the left turn. It sounds like metal cans clanking. I can feel it in the gas pedal too. I’ve tried reproducing in an empty lot by turning and accelerating and I get nothing. It was really bad one time when I made a right turn out of a parking lot onto a Main Street. The street was lower than the asphalt I was coming off from and so my truck bounced a bit while I accelerated right this time. Grinded really bad. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm pretty new to this website. Came across it when I was looking for an answer to my problem . . . I don't know too much about trucks.. cars....4 wheel vehicles. I just bought this 06 crew cab 1500 silverado 4.3L had about 80k miles on it. I actually noticed the sound when I was test driving it from the dealer. Now it has about 101k miles and noise is still the same. it makes a rattling noise, almost like a metal noise at LOW rpms only. Doesn't matter if its 35 or 75mph. Have to be cruising like slight amount of acceleration. Sounds like its coming from the engine.. I checked a bunch of forums all saying different things. my truck is stock, as far as i know.. one of the forums mentioned it could bea bad alternator, but I have no clue. any help? Sorry I'm a complete noob. Ivy

The rattle we had was coming from headliner behind the passenger seat, and was typically worse at medium to highway speeds. It is noticeably louder with the sunroof cover slid back(open). My fix: Open rear passenger door and stand on running board to access the roof rack. If you wiggle the crossbar of the rack it has the slightest of slack, but just enough to make a clanking sound. I wedged some thin flexible magnet pieces(no the rack isn't magnetic, just what I had handy) in between the crossbar and the roof brace in front of and back of the bar(see pic). Viola...no noise. If these come loose I will come up with something more robust(maybe some two part epoxy). I'm not familiar with the inside of the 2015-2019 Suburban, Tahoe, and regular Yukon's, but the ultra quiet cabin of the Denali amplifies ANY little rattle or strange noise. I was used to the road noise and rattles of my 2007 Suburban(288K). They went kind of hand in hand. This one will take some getting used to. I know, suck it up buttercup. Now...back to the "other" issue... front end clank, clank, clank-clank after medium to hard braking, but occasionally during acceleration, and less occasionally steady speeds. No specific rhythm, almost like it's swinging in the wind, and then it suddenly stops after a few seconds. Please help if you know anything! I WILL fix this too! There is a video from another in a different thread on here that has the EXACT same issue/sound as mine.

I recently purchased the rough country 2.5in lift and 33in BFG all terrains for my 2016 Silverado about 15k after my lift install I developed a noise from the front driver side suspension and the noise is noticeable on rough terrain at slow speeds or anything other than smooth pavement a local shop couldn’t find anything wrong with it any advice is needed for an example it sounds like there is play in the strut but the shop I took it to checked all the bolts

My 2014 Sierra Crew Cab, 2WD with the 5.3L has a pre-ignition issue (detonating, knocking & pinging, rattling, dieseling, etc. -- pick the term you want to use). Has anybody else had this problem? This occurs regularly (but not all of the time) at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle while accelerating. It's not something that happens all of the time so it is tough to pin down exact conditions to duplicate the issue. Of course my local GMC Service Department "can not duplicate" the problem. I understand that most people (and I suspect most of the mechanics at the dealership) have no idea what pre-ignition sounds like, and since it is not setting any trouble code, I can't get any traction on getting the problem fixed or even acknowledged. Since the problem seems to be intermittent I've gone so far as to document the dates and times of the issues and ask the dealership to pull the vehicle run history and see what was going on during those times. This has fallen on deaf ears as the service department is unwilling to take this information in an attempt to identify the problem. The ECM has been re-flashed several times without any improvement. On several occasions I have dropped the truck off at the dealership, given them a punch list of things to do/fix (including looking into the pre-ignition problem) and they always come back with "unable to duplicate". I have contacted GM Customer Service and have a Case Number, but that has gotten me nowhere as all they tell me to do is to take it to the dealership. I plea my case that my local dealership does not seem very interested in fixing the problem and I even stopped by the dealership when the problem was occurring to take a the service manager for a ride so he can hear the "knocking and pinging". The manager stated that he was unable to ride with me because he was the only service writer available at the time and I would need to come back. However, before he finished telling me to come back, another service writer showed up at the counter, but the manager would still not go on a drive with me to identify the problem. I'm not sure what the action plan would be if a service writer or technician ever "hears" the problem, but my past experience tells me they will still not acknowledge the issue, or state that the noise is from some other component that is working "as intended". An engine that spends its life with a pre-ignition problem is not a high mileage engine. I'm sure it will make it through the powertrain warranty period before it kills itself by way of detonation, and that concerns me. Does anybody have any suggestions on getting this moved up the ladder in GM Customer Service where I can actually get GM to look into the problem? Thanks.
