  1. You'd be surprised. Troubleshooting is a lot easier on an OBDII vehicle. The only 2 codes my truck has thrown were diagnosed in 20 minutes thanks to computers.
  2. I took a short drive to see family. Truck purred like a kitten. Coming back in the dark was fun with all the lights and the pretty new monitor.
  3. Did you have a case saver installed?
  4. Tune requires flashing the computer, which the truck keeps track of. Since the Range doesn't flash the truck, the only record is the time in V4, which can't really prove you intentionally disabled it. That said, if I had a 2014 it would be tuned. If the dealer won't work on it, fine.
  5. As much as I liked the Scanguage, I wanted something that could display a few more parameters at once. The Edge Insight CS appeared to fit the bill. I got a used unit from another member. Then ordered the dash pod from Amazon to mount it. The pod isn't a perfect match, but it's pretty close. The cable runs down the pillar, weaving it through the dash was the only slightly difficult part. The screen resolution is pretty good. On the analog screen, you can set a custom background but it doesn't really matter to me since it will be on the 6 gauge screen. Overall it's a great unit and I'd recommend it. The only thing I don't like is the "power level" read out, which doesn't apply to my truck. It has a bunch of performance timers and economy stuff which I probably won't use much.
  6. How are they wired?
  7. I get along with cops. Not so much the boat police at the lake. Got a $100 fine for being a life jacket short, no horn, and "wake". I wanted to yell,"Wake my ass, there are jetskis whippin kitties by the boat ramp and you're picking on me??" I had the boat backed off to where it was barely in gear 100 yards before the buoy. And you really think the 8th person wouldn't be able to use one of the 2 tubes, 4 skis, or wakeboard for flotation?? No alcohol on the boat, completely cooperative too. Not to mention, I stopped an hour before that to loan tools to some folks who had broken down. Karma didn't pay off that day. Honestly I don't think the life jacket law should apply unless there's booze on the boat. Practically every person who drowns here, it's because they're too drunk to swim. IMO if you're not wasted and driving the boat they need to just leave you alone.
  8. I don't think I've hit this thread recently.
  9. I hate the fusions. Terrible options. I do like the VW's. If I had to buy a small car it would be a Jetta or Impreza. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah that's right. If you can have someone watch the front driveshaft you'll know for sure. It shouldn't turn when it's in 2 wheel drive. It's the driveshaft from the transfer case to the front axle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I hate road salt. Whatever moron who decided it's necessary in Kansas needs punched in the face. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Why 37's? 35's or 33's do better just cause the truck doesn't have to work as hard to turn em. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Some of the reviews on Amazon claim that the 99-06 antenna is different and the 99-13 stubby won't work, is that true? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If the light is still on, the front axle is still engaged. I'd assume the actuator is bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That's awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Between the color, wheels, Cooper tires and blacked out grille they had a lot in common haha. I have money put aside for a new battery and a new monitor. The current battery is 3 years old. I still haven't decided which one I'm going to go with. As far as the monitor I want an Edge Insight, it can display 8 things at once. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That was a slick truck! I like your new one as well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The sun is quite a bit brighter than DRLs, I think that's why they don't make a difference. If you can't see a pickup coming, having a couple lights on isn't going to make people see you, especially on a bright day. I do think automatic headlights should be mandatory equipment. Some people are too stupid to turn them on when they need to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I liked my 1990 a lot, but to me the 2006 is easier. Oil filter is easier and headlights and signals are too. I'd rather change plugs on either of them than that Jetta though lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. They already did, and it's called a GMT800. Takes me about 1 minute to change a bulb. I worked on that Jetta today. Vacuum line going to the brakes had cracked a little. Fixed it and it ran a lot better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Would it not be possible to put on braided stainless lines? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thank you sir! I'm very happy with it.
  23. One of my buddies has a Jetta and that's enough for me.
