Well y'all already know how I feel about it. In 2010 over $7bil went to ethanol subsidy. No idea what it is today. It's fine as race fuel but as "sustainable energy" as it is today it's a joke.
I remember reading it's about 167% return, not sure which # is closer. Could ethanol "pass" imported/domestic oil? It very well could if not for one factor, which is that you have to burn fossil fuel to get it. Another fun fact, while it's better in terms of particulate pollution, it's actually worse for smog.
