  1. I don't think they're bring to screw me, I just think they're dumb. Last time, I Invited the parts manager and owner of the dealer out to the parking lot to watch me install the DIC with my bare hands, because they laughed when I told them I could. I even gave them the old piece of trim. Unfortunately that tactic won't work with GM techline, scantool etc... I don't want to give them my business, but I live in the woods, they're 1.5 hours away. The next closest dealer is 3 + hours. It looks like it'll be spring before I get my remote start working.
  2. Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I need to beat this horse a little more... I have a 2011 Sierra; with RPO code AP8. I bought part number 17801236. Authentic GM, with verification code. I've asked my local dealer to install it, and Dealer sais I've been "reading on the internet too much"... and that "I can't just program the fobs and have remote start". "it's not that simple" They're telling me I need the kit, "with all the wires and stuff" which they quoted at the exact same price that I paid for 17801236. But this 'Kit' takes 3 shop hours to install, so total would be around 600$, how would you like to pay. I'm going to the big city tomorrow, to a dealer who has a clue. Can anyone confirm that I am not missing something?
