I got my tri-modes wired up today. Thanks to Phil Gamboa for the harness and the help getting it wired up. I’m going to love them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 138 replies

Heated steering wheel
johnhankel replied to Dennisfiremanny's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
That is correct. The wiring for the airbag is on the clock spring though. Does not affect what steering wheel you use. You can get a 2500 wheel and just put the dampener from the 1500 wheel to the 2500 wheel. -

Yes the yellow rubber pieces hold on the dampener. So the one on the left has the dampener on it. Not sure what year of truck you have, but the steering wheel with heat without crash assist for a 2018 is 84353110. -

Send pgamboa a message and he will hook you up. I had no desire to change the outside mirrors, so he made me a wiring harness to add the inside mirror and get the reverse disable working. Works great. I will warn you the wire you need to land in the X61 box is a real pain to get in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got with Phil and purchased his mirror harness that had two wires for the 12 volts and the reverse circuit. I got my mirror put in tonight and got the wiring installed as well... Worked flawless and now have a dimming mirror... Don't hesitate to add this to your truck... FYI, the wire running to the junction box by the e-brake pedal is very tricky to get landed... No pictures, but there are plenty in the thread.... Thanks Phil!!!

What have you done to your K2 today?
johnhankel replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
Got my center console swapped in today using a new console and pgamboa's harness.. Also got his rear view mirror harness to swap in an auto-dimming mirror and installed that this evening as well... -

Some of the black ones hold on the front bracket you have there. The rest, no idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Middle bracket Rear bracket The four nuts with washers hold on those two brackets. The black bracket looks different than the one I have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got the steering wheel installed and works great. Wasn’t at first, then I checked the fuse in the fuse block and it was blown. Might have done that when I was checking to see if the connector was hot. Anyway, replaced the 7.5 fuse with a 10 since I don’t have any. Will get the 7.5 ordered. Thanks Phil and everyone else for the help. BTW, that airbag connector really is a PITA to get in and out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Ok. Watched the video and took out my fuse block. I have the violet/white wire in that location. See picture. Should that mean that the connector underneath is hot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

It appears that my under dash connector is not hot. So what now Phil? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
