  1. Hi there, did you figure this out? I have the exact same noise on my truck. Just started at 80K miles. 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 LT 4X4 5.3L. Let me know. Thanks!
  2. Thanks so much! It was the battery! Manufactured in 2017. I think the heat finally killed it.
  3. Hello, I am having an intermittent starting issue on my 2014 Sierra. Right now, it will not start. It clicks but does not start. I can jump it, and it will start. In fact, it will operate normally for a period of time and it will start after I stop it. After the first time with the starting issue, I jumped it, drove to advance auto parts to have battery/alternator/starter tested, and everything checked out great (although he did say the starter test is not comprehensive and the starter could have a bad spot). It ran fine for a day and a half with multiple trips. Then it would not start again. I jumped it, drove home, parked, stopped, and it started again. Next morning (now) it won't start again. When I turn on the truck, battery reads 12.8v or so with voltmeter. After I try to start, it clicks, and then leave the power on, it reads like 9.6v in the truck and with the voltmeter. But if I power off the truck and then turn the key on again, battery will read 12.8v again. Any ideas of what it may be or other tests I can try? Thanks in advance. Also, this started happening the day I took my truck to a shop to have tires installed. Also, a few weeks ago, I did the carplay upgrade where I replaced the radio and HMI, but it had been working fine since then. But the infotainment system is also not coming on when the power is on (but this may be related to theft deterrent or something else?) and it also did not come on yesterday after I jumped my truck - the radio was on 87.9, but the infotainment was not on and I could not turn the radio up or down or change channels.
  4. Any update on this? Are you still living with the issue?
  5. Having the rack creak with a lift and bigger tires. Only happens when basically standing still and steering and in really hot weather. I bought the truck used but it's probably the original rack. If I get a new rack is this going to keep happening? Or did anybody get this resolved? Was the rack updated to fix whatever weak part is causing the problem? Just ask regarding this issue. I have a 2014 1500. 70k mi
