  1. Personally I don't think it's all that cheap in my neck of the woods. $169.00 to road force and $25 extra if they gotta break the bead and rotate the tire on the rim. Possible 269 plus tax isn't really cheap when you consider the amount I have already dumped into this ride and not feeling like I wanna spend anymore. It's very tolerable now and I'm not gonna sweat over this small vibration unless it happens to get worse then it may be the route I will take. Besides I have my stock rims and winter tires that need to go on real soon. If the vibration is worse than my after markets well then the GM dealer will be responsible to have those road forced and fixed. If I recall the vibration was not tolerable with the stock rims but I only drove it a few days before I got the after markets. The saga continues..
  2. Here's an update to my vibration. 2 of my after market falken zies st05 were out of round. These 2 tires were out of round and have now been replaced. I have very slight vibration still between 105 kph to 115 kph. Past 120kph its smooth. I was told that because these tires are low profile they should be road forced. Don't think I will bother as the vibration is tolerable. 80% percent improvement with the new tires. 305/40R22
  3. IMHO 4.5 oz on a tire is a little much even my shitty falken tires have no more than 1.5 0z and that's on the 2 tires that are out of round. Seriously check your tires for running true. My tire dealer said they make new vehicle so light and sensitive now that a set of tires like mine on a different vehicle you might not even feel what I do in my silverado.
  4. Here' s another thought. I have had 2 sets of tires on factory 18 inch rims that caused the truck to shake. GoodYears that came with the truck and then swapped out to winter hankook pikes. Then I upgraded to 22 inch rims, used tires 30% tread left less vibration than the other 2 sets on factory rims and then the brand new falkens that 2 tires are out of round but happens to be the smoothest out of the bunch and they are out of round. I know this sound weird and what are the odds I have had 4 sets of bad tires wow...Now maybe these trucks are more sensitive to tires and rim than others, don't know and maybe my dealer just happens to have the most perfect set of tire and rim combo from a 2015 silverado.. Hmm I say but hey my bet is to really check your tires over, cannot emphasize this more. My dealer is fully aware about the vibration comments in these forums and they were very professional in dealing with my issue. They had a tool that showed the vibration originating at the drivers side front and rear tires confirmed by their balancing machine and viewed by me. Could very well be that these trucks are sensitive a need a good true rim and tire that's balanced. Wonder if I shoulda bought Michelins instead of Falkens? All I know is that my issue has been tires all along, Good Grief......
  5. Hi So I took my truck in. First thing they did was swap out to a new set of tires and rims from a 2015 silverado, I went out with the mechanic that had a harmonic vibration analyzer. Guess what no vibration what so ever, right to the cut off limit 6 times over and she was smooth as a Caddy.... grin (very happy). My dealer said 2 tires needed to be replaced on my truck which by the way are after market. Mine actually have a hop to them when you run it on the balance machine funny they balanced out almost perfectly. He also said one of my good tires was out.50 oz but ran truer on the machine than any tire he has come across lately ... Go figure, I called my after market tire dealer and he says lets rotate the 2 tires 180% to see if that fixes the problem before I warranty the tires which will need to be ordered 10 days out 2 hr drive each way. Mental note, buy local and pay a little more now or even more later. I hope this info helps some others here, let's really check these tires out....... I mean get the balance guy to run them in front of you so that you can see for yourself if the tires are no good or are running true. My mechanic said he sees bad tires all the time or overtime they get messed up (belts inside the tire are weak and deform). Sometimes a tire balancing tech never looks at the tire and solely relies on his machine, sure it's balanced. However the tire isn't round causing a hop condition. Balancing guy insists the tire is balanced and hey it very well might but that doesn't mean the tire runs true. Maybe I just got lucky here and it was only tires in my case, I am very happy with the result and love my truck again. Hopefully everyone here will get their vibration issues resolved.
  6. Well I hope they figure it out. I took some video today doing 80mph and my drink just about vibrated out of the Center console. I will also demand to take the mechanic out for a drive to show him the shake at 80mph. I'm sure the response would be hey that's faster than the speed limit we can't drive it at that speed. This dealership really better not give me the jerk around as I will become their nightmare. I also don't have a problem with swapping this truck to another brand. There a brand new Dodge dealership moving into my town in a month so like I said GM better take care of this issue or I will inform everyone I know and then some. The GM dealer in my town has been good to me so I believe they will take care of this. Either way I will keep the updates coming.....
  7. I used to think my truck rode pretty good as I drive an f250 at work all day and get vibrated and shook up like a martini. When I jump in my 2014 silverado it's pretty damn smooth compared to the ford but hey my truck is new and shouldn't vibrate at all. Some of us may have a different tolerance level to vibrations and may just accept it and not complain. I really do feel that a larger majority of these trucks have a problem and many are just not complaining and just accepting it. I have had 4 sets of tires on this truck, 18 inch rims with good years : vibrations were the worst. Put on some hankook pikes for the winter : vibrations less but still there. Put on a set of 22 inch rims and used tires : vibrations even less but still there. Put on brand new falken tires: vibrations even less but still there but so far for me this has been the best and most tolerable. My truck has the vibrations past 105kph but probably nowhere near as bad as some of you. I will give my dealer a chance to sort the small annoying vibration with this truck out. On a side note my wife's Kia never vibrates at any speed and it has over 120k on the dial. My old 2005 f150 had oversized tires and never vibrated either. I usual never drive past 100kph so for me the vibration hasn't ruined my overall satisfaction with my truck however when I am on a long trip and trying to stay with traffic at 120kph is when I start to get annoyed.
  8. Mine is going in this Tuesday as the vibration seems to be getting worse. The dealer said he has had 26 complaints about the issue and their is several TSB's on the topic. I will report back after my truck has gone in to be looked at. My dealer told me they have some specialized tools at their shop to diagnose vibration issues.
  9. Hmm, anyone thought of taking the shaking issue to the media. I bet if an investigative news reporter did a story on this problem GM would probably get this fixed real quick. Looking at all the recalls as of late I'm sure they don't need anymore bad publicity.
  10. Have your tires balanced after driving for awhile warm(operating temperature not cold). I get some vibration even with my new tires and rims but only for 5kms then it's gone. If it's really cold outside it takes 20kms or better. Look at it this way the tires are sitting on cold pavement all night and get a bit of a flat spot. So if you balance cold it will do no good cause the balance machine will counter weight the flat spot then the tires warm up and it's out of balance. Hope this helps some of you out. I had my new tires balanced new and the vibration got worse the longer I drove it. Went back in and had them rebalanced after driver 100km's and the vibration is gone except first thing in the morning but it's very slight and gone in 5km's. Not worth worrying about
  11. I have been following this thread and thought I add my 2 cents. When I first got my 2014 Silverado Crew Cab LT with 5.3L and 3.08 gears I immediately noticed vibrations at 60kph and over 100kph. I didn't like the tires from day one and immediately went to the sales person and cut a deal to have Goodyear SRA's switched to all terrain. They only had winter tires and be it was winter time I went with Hankook Pike RW11's. They solved most of the vibrations issues but were not great above 100 kph as they are a pretty soft tire. I kept my eyes peeled for a new set of rims and tires. I found a nice set of 22inch rims off an escalade and put some 305/40R22 Falken Zies ST05's tires on the truck. Let me tell you what an amazing difference. Rides silky smooth and corners like its on rails with no vibrations even up to 160kph. Now the truck has a limiter so I couldn't tell you about vibrations past this speed and no I don't need a lecture on driving that fast. It was done in an controlled environment. I really do like my truck now and everyone that looks at it say its bad ass. When I had the original tires it mad me angry everytime It vibrated and I contemplated getting rid of it. However I don't like Ford, had two, Ram is to rounded and Toyota well gas mileage not so good. I owned an 2004 f150 Lariat used 24liters per 100k then a ranger that just about used as much fuel and couldn't haul shit. So I must say if you have vibrations sell those crap tires and check out 1010 tires.
